What are my chances?

I banked 35 points from this year because we weren't planning on going until April next year and we have a March use year. Now my son's school is messing with the calendar and instead of giving them 1 week in April they are getting 1 week in February. I have the 4 night cruise booked for April. I would also have to see how much more the cruise will cost if I change to February.

1. Do you think I could get those 35 points released back into this year so I could use them in February?

2. What are the chances I could get a studio at BCV for President's week in February booking now?

No. Banking is a final transaction - you can't get those points returned to their original use year (which I assume is 2005). The banked points will expire February 28, 2007 if you do not use them between 3/1/2006 and 2/28/2007.

You could borrow points from 2006 to make the reservation. Once borrowed, the points will expire on 2/28/2006 if yo do not use them up before then.

2. What are the chances I could get a studio at BCV for President's week in February booking now?

Probably not great, but you won't know until you try. If you are open to other resorts, you will almost surely be able to get something, though. Good luck!

I could always rent those points out. This way they won't be lost.

I'm so mad at DS's school I could scream. Every year for the past 8 years they have had 2 days off for President's day and a week in April for spring break. Now all of a sudden they are taking the last 2 days from spring break and adding them to 3 days for President's Day. IF we have a mild winter we will get unused snow days added to Spring Break. Way too tentative for my taste.

Sorry the school schedule is so unsettled - tempts you to just do whatever works without considering the school schedule at all , doesn't it?

If he was a bit better student I would not hesitate to have him miss those 2 days but there is also the possibility that if we have a bad winter and more than 4 snow days are used they will take more days away from April.

4 more years and he's out of school!
