of walking up to a restaurant and getting reservations for two? I am having a hard time making reservations because we never know where we'll be or when we'll eat. I know some people enjoy making their dining reservations 180 days out, but I'm finding it's not my thing. I don't even care if we can't get a reservation in the parks, I would be happy with something at a resort. We're going Dec. 15th-21st.

It really depends on where you want to eat. Some of the restaurants may not be a problem but the more popular ones (e.g., Ohana, etc) would definitely be more of a problem.

100% chance of getting "something".

Now, that something may be out of the way, or at a weird time, or at a place that you'd never think of, but there will be openings somewhere.

Unless you're on a dining plan, I'd just say book any that you feel you must do, and then call in the mornings when you're there to see what's open (or check online). There will be something open, you just will have to be flexible on location and time.

Thanks. We do have the dining plan, so I know we'll have one table service meal each day. We usually have the QS and it's no problem. I just find it hard to plan so far out. I know when I went with a friend in February we were able to walk up to San Angel and get a reservation and we got one at WCC and CM on the same day we wanted to go. But this time DH and I are going during a busier time. I might just take my chances and see what happens.

We've walked up to TS restaurants quite often and at differing times of the year. We usually wait till latter in the afternoon. On our last trip, August 4 to 19 we walked up at Hollywood Brown Derby and Yak & Yeti and were seated immediately. Now, the next time we try that it might not work.

I'll have to post on here how it went when we get back. I do have a couple reservations already that I know will work, but as for the rest of the time we'll just wing it. :)

It truly depends on when and where you go - I went on a solo trip to DHS got there at opening (11:30am) and I could not get a table at 50's, Sci -fi of Mama Melrose ended u eating at the Commisonary!

Good Luck!

With the exception of Epcot (since there are so many restaurants there), this will likely be the typical case. In-park restaurants are tougher to walk-in than resort restaurants. As long as you're flexible (e.g. I doubt Captain's Grille over at Yacht Club was booked up for this time), you'll find something, it just may include some travel or some wonky times. Calling in the morning to see what's open may be slightly better than just walking up as well, as you won't have to go through several different locations to find something.
