So, DH has a conference in Honolulu in date removed. We are staying an extra ** nights after the conference, and have made reservations to extend our stay at *** for those nights. Of course, I went on the budget board asking for tips about **, and they got me looking at **. We are not DVC members so we would have to rent points. What are the chances that there'd be a ** available for these dates? Is there any way I can find out about availability before I start stalking "rent" posts and trying to actually rent the points? TIA for any insight/advice! --Katie

The only way to check DVC availability is for a member to call Member Services. If you are serious about staying there, then go ahead and post your desired dates on the Rent board. But I wouldn't waste a member's time if you are just in the "thinking about it" stage. For one thing, availability today guarantees nothing for tomorrow.

My guess is you would have a good shot at it.

There is the DVC availability board you can check too, but not sure how accurate it is. People report when they call for availability and there isn't any, but it is very spotty, but it would be a good start.

According to the availability chart, all the ** are booked for our dates :sad1:. How accurate is that chart usually? --Katie

Just a reminder, we do not allow "seeking rental" posts here on the DIS. So no details, etc. are allowed such as resort, dates, etc.

Please visit our DVC Rent/Trade Board and follow the sticky posts up top for info on Renting Points and postings here on the DIS. Thanks all.

The resort availability board is really only a guide for what might be unavailable but not what is.

People here on the DIS post when they call MS and find out something is booked. If you see a date that is listed, then it will be difficult. But, DVC availability changes all the time so even listed dates can open up later on.

If you see "no report", then that just tells you no one here has shared information about that date.
