what are my chances?

I am new to DVC. Plan on purchasing this week. I will have the 160 developer points to use. What are my chances of getting in SSR Aug 28 for
5 nights. I plan on booking a studio or 1 bedroom.

Also, if free dining is available during my vacation, am I eligible to add that on and how do I do it. I plan on having AP passes.

You have an excellent chance of getting SSR at that time! Free dining is not offered for DVC stays on points, only cash ressies. If you have an AP, you qualify for the Disney Dining Experience Card which gives you 20% off at most table service retaurants and some resort counter service places. Don't forget that you get $100 off the price of the AP which is the best benefit of DVC (IMHO)!

Does the DDE card cost anything?

I think you have a great chance of getting SSR when you want. I am not sure of the DDE cost. We don't normally get that or the DDP anymore. We feel that the value is not there like it used to be. Good luck!
