What are the chances of me selfishly getting what I want? :rotfl2:

I am on the waiting list for a 1 bedroom at VWL for 4/9-4/15.

I know it's an extremely busy time to go, but have any of you had a similar experience of being on the list?

I do have back up plans at OKW for the same dates, but I know how much my family enjoys the VWL.

Any help, suggestions, ideas are greatly appreciated.

I've often gotten waitlists. That's a busy week. Good luck with it.

At the 31 day window, do you find that rooms open up a bit because of people cancelling their trips?

Yes - at this point, the best chance of something opening up for you will be at the 30-31 day mark. Anyone who isn't absolutely sure they will go will cancel then to avoid having their points go into the holding account.

When did you get on the waitlist? What size accomodations? Are you waitlisting for the entire week to become available all at once or by individual days? All of those things come into play when trying to estimate the chance of a waitlist success. IMHO, the best chance of getting an Easter week at the smaller DVC resorts atthe 7 month window goes to those who call day by day as soon as MS opens, and waitlist by individual day if not successful in getting one or more of their days on the first call. Studios seem to be the most popular room size, followed by 2 bedroom units and then 1 bedroom units.

Hope your waitlist comes through - if not, I'm sure you'll still have a good time at OKW.

Best wishes -

VWL is the smallest DVC resort. If you are on a short waitlist, you might have a chance.
