what are my chances of getting HH for Aug ...

Just wondering what they opinions are out there of getting HH in Aug/12 at the 7 month window? Any experiences?

What size villa? There are mostly 2 bedrooms, but even those are hard to come by for the summer at 7 months. I think there are under 30 studio and 1 bedroom lock offs.

I have always been able to get HH buildings at the 7 month window, and have booked studios, 1BR and 2BR units. So I would say your chances are very good.

We are family of 5 so I guess I would need a 2 BR - we own at BLT where we can get a 1 b/r
We are thinking of adding on points. That would give us 2010 points and 2011 points which we would try to use next summer(300 pts). I just hate to wait till the 7 month mark and not get anything- I would then lose the points
I know there are never any guaranties .....I am a big "over planner" and hate not knowing till 7 months out.

This year I called for August 7-12 at 9:05am exactly 7 months out and it wasn't available and we were wait listed. The CM admitted that "the rooms were there a second ago" and she sounded surprised that they were gone. Fast forward to the following week and I tried for the next week out (August 14-19) at exactly 9am sharp and snagged it. Since the southern schools tend to go back earlier than us northerners, I think that helped us. Either that or the 5 minute wait the first time around killed it for me. Not sure. Either way - we're thrilled that we got in and can't wait to go!!!

I was able to book a studio for a week in mid-August last summer. I called right at 9:00. I had heard that it sometimes helps to book there starting on a Saturday because a lot of people just try to book the week days Sun - Thurs and they try to avoid booking the more expensive weekend nights. So if you're willing to spring for the weekend points it may help.

thank for the great tips. I guess if I call the second I can I have the best chances. It's funny. DVC for me was supposed to take the stress out of waiting for great deals to come along and just book my trip. But availability is now stressing me out.

I tried for July, but it wasn't right at the 7 month window. So, we ended up with the first week in August in a 2br. We are staying Aug 6-12. We did stay on the weekend night for our first night and I think that may have helped to get a ressie. I do think the M-Thurs book up b/c of the point difference. If you are flexible, I think if you call right at 7 month you should be ok.

The 1st time we tried we had no problem but this year we treid for 8/13-19 for a 2 bedroom with no luck, did not bother to wait list guess we'll just stick to the rv for that week.

we were lucky and were able to get a week in a studio aug 7-14. I ended up calling right at 9 am 7 mos.
We had to cancel a trip this spring break but were also able to get a week in a studio at that time (end of march beginning april) for one week at 7 mos out. Something unfortunately came up and we had to give up that reservation so I think someone probably lucked out and picked it up on waitlist.

If you wait list it, there's still a chance. You might also look at an exchange to HH or MB. That week is tough, the next week starts to get easier.

I tried to get my son a studio for his honeymoon for August 2009 right at ms opening at the 7 month mark. I wasn't able to get him a room and the waitlist never came through so they went to Vero Beach instead.
