Hi,

We have always faithfully stayed at OKW since 94, this year I would like to stay
at BCV. At the end of this month I will book a one-bedroom at OKW. At the 7 month window I wont to try to get in at BCV. What are my chance's?

One reason is that the pool may not be done by spring since they moved the date back from spring to fall.

Thanks,

Robin:earsgirl:

If you don't get it, book at your home resort and waitlist for BCV. There's a reasonable chance of that working.

I didn't book this years spring break trip until 8months out at BWV. I requested boardwalk view, then when they started guaranteeing the boardwalk view, I got it. Must not have been booked up too much. Good luck!

Just remember that Easter this year is the middle of April, next year it is the end of March. There are a bunch of us who have spring break at the same time every year at the end of March. And I, for one, wish the rest of you would pick a week and stick with it, instead of jumping from week to week every year, making me pay premium season rates of nearly 100 extra points.;) It happens once every 4 or 5 years, and you're messing up all my point allocations! Keep it up, and I'm going to have to buy more points:p

I just called to make my 11 month reservations at OKW for spring break next year.We have been members for 5 years.Well........the prices went up ,it's now "premium season" those last two weeks of March and no one could explain it very well.Is this something that happens only every 4 or 5 years as the above post says or did something happen and I am asleep at the wheel? How do I best rent points if needed,if it is in fact a once every 4 or 5 years?

Thanks
Wljet

Wljet, Spring break is ALWAYS premium season for points. It 's just that Spring break changes every year, along with Easter. Since most of the country has their Spring break either the week before or the week after Easter, that's Premium time and more points. Our school systems, and possibly yours, does not tie Spring break to Easter, but usually plans it for one of the last two weeks in March. Since Easter is in March next year, this puts us on the same schedule as the rest of the country. Diana

Diana,
Thank you for the explaination,
In the Chicagoland area we have our Spring Break the last week or so of March. So as long as our schedule doesn't change,we will be back to Magic season prices again in '06?

Thanks,
Wljet

I hope so! We went for Spring break in '03, and it was fabulous! Great weather, medium crowds. Weren't able to do it this year, next year it will be too crowded, hoping for '06! Diana

Based on Caskbills program, 2006 Magic Season will run from Feb 16 to April 8 - Premier at WDW will run April 9 to 22 inclusive

when Easter is next year and onwards...?

Must be a site somewhere...???

I just called our local schoolboard office to find out Spring Break'05 and they JUST approved the calendar for next year...the Secretary laughed at me and asked "Why do you need to know so early...are you going to WDW or something???"

Oh lady...if you only knew...;) ;)

While I'm off the topic:), is there a countdown site somewhere to figure out the 330days out airline booking..?

TIA!!

ps...March Break for Nova Scotia is Mar14-19 next year...:)

Easter is always the first Sunday after the first Full Moon after the Vernal Equinox. Lines up nicely with Passover (which is not a coincidence, if we've read our Bibles ;) ).

Here is when Easter is occurring in the nest few years:
March 27, 2005
April 16, 2006
April 8, 2007
March 23, 2008

In Maine and Massachusetts, our school break is fixed to Patriots' Day, a state holiday in both, commemorating the "shot heard 'round the World", the battles of Lexington and Concord. It lines up with Easter in 2006, but is most often out of synch with the rest of the North American continent's school schedule.

Oooh, that's handy, danjulia! Gonna hafta bookmark that one.::yes::

Being Eastern Orthodox, our Easter dates are usually different than the Western churches - makes for some great family and trip and religious planning

thanks

We also have Spring Break end of March, went to WDW this year but will NOT next year due to the earlier Easter. My kids found a site on google which tells you when Easter will be for the next gazillion years. We are considering Arizona next Spring Break, I can hardly stand to stay home. Our next Disney trip will be summer 05 as we don't take the kids out of school anymore (too old, too much work!)

Spring Break depends not only on where you live but what schools you are in-remember colleges start spring break early in March. Every week in March is Spring Break for at least some colleges. I remember being in college and we always had Spring Break a different week than anyone else I knew. So Spring Break begins in early March and ends sometime after Easter.:hyper:
And thanks to pumpkin boy you were all reminded how the date for Easter is determined!
And here on Long Island Spring Break can be one long week as it was this year, because Passover and Easter coincided nicely or separated into 2 shorter breaks when Easter (Western) and Passover are a bit further apart.
Now if a calendar isn't available try a site with astronomical time tables for the full moon and you can figure it out for yourself. (Easter is the first Sunday after the first Full Moon after the Vernal Equinox! [AKA the first day of Spring]);)
