What are "Entertainment rates"?

I've just started reviewing the Universal boards, and I've seen references to Entertainment rates for the resorts.
What are these rates, and how do you get them?

Entertainment Rates refer to the discount rates that were available if you had an "Entertainment Card" that many fund raising groups sell.

So far this year, Universal has not offered any of these rates (and may not at all).

The only discounts out there I have seen are for AAA, APH (annual passholder) and Florida/Georgia resident rates.

There have been some "internet rates" that are the same as AAA. You can look up your dates & discounts at:

i called many times earlier this year for the ent. rates.

in early march i was informed by hrh that they and the other two hotels pulled out of that promotion. they no longer need the ent. program to keep their occupancy level high.

i double checked with loews direct and they asknowledged that. on site hotels no longer participate as of march 1 05.

i then called entertainment book company and they told me in late march that , yes the three hotels pulled out of the program but it was too late for ent. to pull the coupons and reference to it in the 05 books.

those were the days.........$125 for a room there. garden view, but 4 times at that rate, i received the upgrade due to my loews card.

AAA and AP has the discounts this year.
i am using the AAA rate for my stay

Agree. Those were the days, but all good things must come to an end.

The entertainment book only has a $50 off coupon for a 4 night stay. Not really worth it.

The best rates these days come from using the AAA or APH code.
