I thought I read something here about Disney Dollars (Can't recall what they are called). Are they like gift cards? Can kids use them? Are they just for Disney Parks and resorts?

If it's what I think you are talking about, Disney Dollars are replica dollars with characters on them. You use them like regular money. Use to be when you rented a stroller, they gave you a Disney dollar when you returned it, but they did away with that a couple of years ago.

If you are talking about the Disney bucks you earn for using the Disney credit card, those come on a reloadable credit/debit card. Careful, the credits you put on those are only good for a year. We put $100 at a time since you can call from anywhere to have more credit put on immediately.

Hope this helps!

I thought they were like "dollars" that could be used at Disney.

Disney Dollars can be used as cash at any Disney Park/ resort/ Store/ Restaurant, etc....

Disney Dollars is cash money, spendable at any of the parks and resorts. You can purchase them at either the parks, disney stores or the resorts (I think the resorts). We get them for DS every trip from the Disney store in our mall.

how do you get them? Can I order them?

Thank you both for the help so far :)

I "think" I saw a thread where there was a way to order them.......... I don't know if this is true or not. But, I'll see if I can find it.

Again, we've always purchased them at the Disney Store.

Thanks all! We do not have a Disney Store here, but there is one in my mom's city - I'll have her get some.

Thanks all :thumbsup2

The best part about Disney Dollars (IMO) is that you receive American money for change. If a coke costs $2 (hypothetically) and you use a $10 Disney Dollar, you get $8 American in return. (i.e., you're not stuck with Disney Dollars at the end of your vacation if you use them wisely). They can be used everywhere and make a great gift.

I was thinking about purchasing some every now and then so that we'd then have some money to use at WDW. Thing is, I don't have a clue where our nearest Disney store is these days. :(

You can exchange any unused Disney Dollars back into cash at the end of your trip. So it's not a worry. Or save them for the next trip. ; )

Anyone seen/know what the 2009 design is for the disney dollars? My daughter has been earning disney dollars for our upcoming trip. She's also received such for Christmas gift, etc. Her spending money is already allocated. It's been quite the incentive! We're all pleased with the outcome! Thanks!
