Nothing upsets me more than seeing people say "I hate animals".

I love all animals. Animals and I get along well. I like animals more than I like people. I don't care who you are, or what you mean to me, I probably love my cat more than I love you.

Animals are drawn to me. Always have been. I love them. All of them.

I cried for weeks when I cat died. I've never had the death of a person affect me that way (I've had people very close to me die, too).

I don't think those featherless chickens are gross. I think they're sad. I find it horrible that people would do something so cruel to an animal.

Animals are wonderful, beautiful, amazing creatures. They're honest. They're kind. They're intelligent. They're friendly. They're better than we can take credit for.

Totally agree. Many animals are drawn to me too, especially cats. And the only people I love more than my Monty boo and Doodles and Puff (my kitties)are my parents.

And personally, I think humans could learn a lot from animals.

It also makes me sad when people say that they hate an animal because they've had a bad expierience with one. Just because one was mean, doesn't mean they all are.

If I decided to base my judgement of a species like that, I would dispise dogs, because I've met quite a few mean ones. But I really do like dogs in general, just not those particular mean ones.

If you meet one mean person, do you automatically hate them all?

Any domestic animal drives me absolutly up the wall. They're so obnoxious. And yes, I hate them. Any zoo type of animal is fine.

I don't like snakes considering one put me in the hospital and almost killed me.
And no...
I'm not kidding.
I got bit by a copperhead when I was six and it almost killed me.
I was allergic to the anti-venom.

Bugs FREAK me out. If I get one near me or find one on me...WHEW! I'd have a huge spastic fit right there, screaming "GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF!" until someone gets the bug off me.

Nothing really. All animals are fine and what ever they do that scares you is just their natural defense mechanism. I work at a zoo and yeah get pretty fed up when people tell us how scary the big cats are.

Shelby, I cannot agree with you more. I was kind of reluctant to open up this thread over the past few days, because it makes me feel bad to hear about people not likeing animals because of ONE experience. Think about it, it's like saying "I don't like people, because this kid at school accidentally scratched me." Generally when an animal hurts you, it is an accident, or a result of bad treatment from people over and over again.

All I can say, poor chickens. People made them like that...

I am an animal lover, 10 hours a week at a shelter since I was 10, and I've cried myself to sleep at night for the last week, counting down the days until August 1st, the day my dog died last year.

Sure, I am more comfortable around some types of animals than others, but it doesn't make me dislike them.

I don't know, I just think people need to think more about whenther it was one bad experience, or these animals as a whole have done something wrong to make you feel that way about them.
