Hello :) I need some help:

I will hopefully be booking my vacation Friday.
Oct. 20-Oct 24 @POP

The AAA travel agent's quote is $2,124.93
The WDW Site's quote is $2,246.29

$121.36 Difference

I thought that the AAA room rates were about 10% less than standard rate and that ticket prices are cheaper with AAA.

The AAA travel agent gave me a "price sheet" for tickets:

10 day Park Hopper with No exp..$1,336.93 (AAA)
10 day Park Hopper with No exp..$1,598.58 (WDW website)

$261.65 difference

If the ticket price difference is $261.65 than why am I not seeing atleast that difference in package price.

Should I book seperate and if I do how do I add the basic meal plan? The website does not offer the meal plan if you do not book together?

Thanks so much in advace

You need to book a package to receive the dining plan so far as I know.

As far as the difference, when I got a price quote I was surprised there wasn't more of a difference. I'll be interested to see what answers you get!

Agree to get a dining plan, you need to book a package with MYW tickets. (Unless you are a WDW Annual Passholder.)
If you book a room and buy tickets separate, what you have is a room only and MYW tickets. Two separate pieces.

From what I have read here is the discount on a AAA WDTC package is for the room portion.
Again, going by what I have read, it is less expensive to buy tickets separate as you will get the discount on the tickets too. However, you still would need to buy at least a one day MYW ticket for everyone in your group to buy a WDTC package.

With a DDP, what you want is a WDTC AAA MYW package with dining. You need to buy that as all one package, not separate pieces as the room only and separate tickets. And you cannot add your separate discounted tickets onto your WDTC package, since you are not buying the tickets through WDTC.

Clear as mud? :dance3: :rotfl:

On a package, the AAA discount is only on the room portion. Now it's possible that she's giving you the old priced tickets. AAA buys them in bulk ahead of time, so in a sense, the tickets as part of the package would be priced higher.

If you don't want dining, just do a room only reservation with the AAA discount (either thru AAA or WDTC). But if you do want dining, you should get the AAA discount (via AAA) or wait for the DVC or general codes to come out...

decisions,:cheer2: decisions,
any way you go
have a magical trip

Is just you going? Assuming you want 2 of those 10 day tickets it would put you over $2600 alone. I'm not sure where you aren't seeing the savings?

I think that this is right:

I can not get the AAA room and AAA ticket discount together?

If I do not want the dining plan, than this will work, but if want the dining plan than I need to buy it as a package. And, loose one of the discounts.

I am sorry but I needed to dumb down your post bc this whole process is confusing.

I am not sure what you mean by "However, you still would need to buy at least a one day MYW ticket for everyone in your group to buy a WDTC package"...
ok hear me out :)

I buy a
4 day AAA tickets (park hopper)
1 day MYW tickets (park hopper) along with the room from WDTC
and than I can buy:
5 day AAA tickets (park hopper and no expiration
I get dining for how many day than?

I am so confused :(

Thanks for your help :)

I am lost by your post:
It is my husband and daughter. We will be using 5 out of the 10 days. I do not know where the 2600comes from?

I was referring to the price difference that AAA quoted me and the price on the WDW website.

OK, you're staying for 5 days, right?

You can buy: Discounted room & discounted tickets, but that doesn't get you the dining plan.

You can buy: Package for 5 days which includes discounted room, non-discounted tickets for as many days and with whatever options you want (doesn't need to match the length of your stay), and dining for the 5 days you're at the resort.

You can buy: Discounted tickets for however many days and with whatever options you want, and a AAA package with a discounted room, with a 1 day base ticket for each of you, and then get dining.

What this means is that you can buy tickets elsewhere, but in order to get dining, you must buy a package that includes at least a 1 day base ticket for each person in your party.

Most people, if they want dining, will buy the package with the discounted room, the non-discounted tickets, and the dining plan, and forget about getting the discounted tickets - the discount on the tickets doesn't pay.

Does that make sense at all?

I can not get the AAA room and AAA ticket discount together?
That is my understanding from what I have read on other posts.

Again, yes, that is my understanding.

The dining plans are based on the number of nights of the guest's stay. It has nothing to do with how many days tickets are purchased for.
You could buy 10 day tickets for everyone on your reservation. If you all are only staying 5 nights, then each guest on the res has meal credits for the 5 nights.

Only WDTC offers WDW packages with meal options. You can book a WDTC package through AAA.
You can also book a room only and buy tickets separate through AAA. However DDP options are not an add on to room only reservations.
For a WDTC package (which is what you will need to book to get a dining plan) EACH person in your party will have to have at least a one day MYW ticket bought against the package. And each person will have to have the same type ticket purchased on the reservation. For example you could not buy a 5 day ticket for yourself and a 1 day ticket for your DH.
You can buy one day tickets for everyone on your reservation, or tickets to cover your entire stay. If you bought non expiring option on your tickets you could even buy 10 day tickets and use the remaining days from the tickets on a future trip.
The length of your tickets are not tied with how long your resort stay is. The dining plans are.

Thank you all for the explanations.

I had an easier time with my GRE's.

I have figured it out all different ways and going with the AAA quote is the best...I just thought that the discounts were more than about 6%.

Again, thank you all!
