I have nov 17-25 booked at VWL. We leave from there to Marco Island to meet up with family for thanksgiving. I am considering switching to the week after thanksgiving for the Disney world portion of the trip. Help me decide pls. We usually travel around Halloween so looking forward to doing Christmas stuff.

My thoughts:
Less crowded week before tday
VWL pool probably not open yet for current dates
Resort Christmas decor not up at arrival??
Probably won't get VWL if switch dates due to availability :(
No candlelight processional with current dates

What are your thoughts? Any pros or cons to sticking or switching?

All Christmas events in Epcot running post TG.
(Christmas events in Epcot will not be running pre TG.)

Virtually all the rest of WDW Christmas decor will be up post TG.

From our experience, there are some holiday events pre-Thanksgiving that are well worth the trip. Right after the last Halloween party, efforts begin to decorate the resorts and parks and this occurs virtually overnight (not completely of course ;) ). One year we arrived at OKW and the Halloween lights were still hanging. The next morning they had been replaced with holly and Christmas lights. The Gingerbread House is generally complete at the GF. The Osborne Lights show begins at DHS. The MVMCP event begins too. We enjoy checking out the various resort decorations. It is quite wonderful and really puts one in the holiday spirit.
