What all did I miss???

I took the 3-day cruise with my Mom in January 2002. We cruised right when the weather was so bad all across the hemisphere. When we docked in Nassau, the people there were actually wearing leather coats and gloves. It was cold, windy and we were only 1 of 4 ships that made it into port that day. It was freezing when we left Port Canaveral, record low's and rainy and cold when we got back.

Because the weather was so bad, the ship rocked so hard that our closet doors slammed from side to side when we were at see. I felt "icky" throughout the whole trip. I was also slowed down and limited as to what I could do because Mom uses a walker and and takes a bit longer.

All that being said, we had a very nice time. It could have been better if the weather had cooperated, but we had a good time. And, I am not complaining that Mom slowed me down, honest, the purpose of the cruise was to take her while she was still able to go. She played Bingo, I did some pin trading, we enjoyed the stage shows. Toured Castaway Cay, and loved the fresh fruit there.

Now, I have a cruise booked this summer for our 23rd anniversary. Again, the 3-day. I want to do the 7-day, but so do Mom, Aunt, cousin, son etc. I wanted to do a cruise with just hubby before taking on the whole group.

So, I am wondering just what I might have missed that hubby and I would really enjoying doing. I did not see any of the lounge shows, I guess you would call them or the trivia, etc. What do you experienced cruisers suggest not to miss on this trip? There is such little time that you feel you need to really plan ahead in order not to miss anything.

We were on the Wonder just after your trip and DD got sick so I didn't make it but will try again next year!

Have fun!

I would suggest checking out Barb & Tony's www.castawayclub.com website. They have navigators from all cruises so you can see what went on on a day-to-day basis from those trips (not always the same, but pretty darn close). Their trip reports are also a great way to get this information.

Good luck!

Well, yes, I knew about the navigators, but thanks for the link. I was hoping however for comments on things that people particularly seemed to enjoy or maybe some of those things that may be easily overlooked.

Did not try Palo. We thought since we were on the DCL for the first time last January that we would sample the restaurants available to us without having to make a reservation. We enjoyed all 3 of our restaurants.

I would recommend going to the tropical party on Nassau night and the 70's show in the adult club area. Very fun!

Well, in that case, make sure you go to 70s night. It's a blast!

If you were to pick but one show to see, make it Disney Dreams!

It even made DD feel better!

It was spectacular! Not that the other shows weren't but Disney Dreams was the best! IMHO
