What airport for Vero??

I have 2 weeks booked at Vero and it will be my 1st visit there.

Can someone tell me what airport might be close?? Coming from NJ. Is Lauderdale too far?? I will be renting a car too. Help??

Fort Lauderdale may be about the closest airport- it is certainly less than 2 hours from there to the resort.

We are from southern jersey and fly out of Philadelphia or Atlantic City. The closest airport to Vero is Melbourne but it is pricey from our airports. We usually fly into Orlando (when we do a split stay between WDW and Vero). Orlando airport is about 90 mins. from Vero. We have flown into West Palm as well. It also is about 90 mins. from Vero. I would go with the best price. Either airport is an easy airport.

When we went we also flew into Orlando did a split stay then we drove over to Vero. Flew out of Orlando. Worked well! Still treasure that vaca as my Late FIL who resided in Ft Lauderdale came to visit for 3 days and got a chance to spend time with us and the grandsons. Went in mid August 2010... had a great time. ENJOY!

We fly in and out of Melbourne which is about 40 minutes from Vero Beach resort. We have found it is cheaper or equal to flying in and out of Orlando, but the big thing for us is that it is a smaller airport and it has not taken us more than 20 minutes to return the car, check our bags and go through security. Delta and UsAir are the only large carriers flying into MLB

Since I'm in NJ (at the shore, LBI) the closets airport for me is Atlantic City (25 min ride) and neither Delta or USAir fly out of there.

To take those airlines I'd need to go to Phila. or (ugh) Newark...both an hour + ride..so looks like it'll be Orlando on Spirit for me.

Try West Palm - Spirit flies in from Atlantic City, and it's about a 1 hour 15 minute ride to Vero.

West Palm is a beautiful little airport. That's what we use to fly in to from Jersey all the time.

We fly from MA. When we are doing a split WDW Vero stay we fly into out of Orlando. If it is a Vero only I enjoy West Palm airport. I found prices comparable, especially when looking at adding a car rental as well.

We've flown into both Orlando and Melbourne for Vero Beach. Hate the long, boring drive from Orlando. Love the small Melbourne airport and the relaxing drive to DVB. W've even found great prices into there - not all the time but keep looking as the prices do fluctuate. Melbourne is easy in and out, rental cars are a few steps outside of the terminal.
