What age would let..

OK, I guess you can call CPS on me now:lmao:

DH took DD (14) and her best friend to the 9 pm showing of Twilight, followed by New Moon at midnight. He watched them get into line, and then met them between the 2 movies, and watched them get in line again.

He spent the evening across the street at a bar. Not drinking BTW

I might add--It was a school night. Both girls made it to school the next day.

Another example of how very, very much the world has changed.

At 7 I used to take my 4 year old brother and walk 6 blocks to the movie theatre on 8 Mile road in Detroit. All the neighborhood kids did it every Saturday morning.

Yes, that very 8 Mile road from eminem's movie. But I'm older than dirt so that really has nothing to do with today's world.
When I was 8, my friends and I rode our bikes about 1.5 miles to the beach, played, swam and rode back home, with no adult supervision other than the lifeguard on duty at the beach.

Good God, our parents were nuts! :lmao:

What is probably even worse is that at 11 I was babysitting newborn babies!!! My sister was born when I was 11, and several of my mother's friends had babies about the same time. I used to babysit for about 3-4 of them. Now those ladies were nuts even back then. Besides the baby there would usually also be a toddler or two.
