What age were you when you FIRST went to Disney?

My number just happened to be 34 and DH was 36. We've been on cloud 9 :cloud9: ever since.

Ready to head back to the Mouse in 2006! :cheer2:

I was age 23 when DH and I visited for the first time. It was just MK then however Epcot did open that fall. The reason for our visit was a little sad. I had suffered a miscarriage at about 5 months into the pregnancy. I was very depressed for months. So we planned the trip to WDW to help in my recovery. And we found some pixie dust on that visit as about 9 months after the trip our first son was born.

25 the first time I went in 1992. DH was 24--it was a delayed honeymoon--we had no money when we married--just out of college 1990. Had DS in 1991 and in 1992 we went to WDW for a week. Been obsessed ever since! :flower1:

First time I was 7- just me, mom and dad, went back again at 13 with my family and some friends.

Went back again the year EPCOT opened with my mom, dad and brother. Lack of money in college kept me away until DH, DS(9), DD(6) and I went last year and we are going back again in 3 weeks.

DD and I are going in December 2005(my birthday 12-08), just for a weekend. I am totally psyched for a little mommy and me time with my little girl (before it's too uncool to hang out with your mom, LOL)

Not to worry, DD is 22 and she still hangs out with mommy (and daddy) at WDW!! :smooth:

I was 6 years old. My parents were doing the first of many family cross country trips. It was me and my sister and our dog (a boxer) in the back seat of a car my parents didn't even own!! MY dad offered to drive one of the people he worked with their car from Chicago to California. We saw a whole lot that trip. The final stop of the trip before we took a train home was Disneyland. Of course this is the time when you had to buy tickets for each individual ride, or at least a book of tickets. I still have the sweatshirt
my folks bought me so that we could stay and see the fireworks.

Thanks for this thread, it's truly amazing to read everyone's memories.

I was 14, my first vist was during the 15th aniv in 1986/87

7 or 8, it w in '71 the year it opened. I remember that the hotels weren't finished yet and we stayed in Tampa and drove over. Mom won a trip and I remember my Dad was convinced we'd arrive and it'd be a scam. It was a wonderful trip.

Halloween 1978. For my 8th birthday. And the Halloween baby was too chicken to go in the Haunted Mansion! Gee, must be why I make up for lost time now.
I also had the ever-living snot scared out of me in Injun Joe's Cave. My dear BIL (or Disnutty, as he's known in these parts) jumped out at me from behind a stalagmite (or was it a stalactite? they confuse me...). Now, of course, to this day, every time I'm in there, whoever I'm with is required by law to leap out to scare me. Yes, they tell me they're going to do it ... and whoever it is (DH the last two years) ALWAYS gets me anyway. Sigh. I'm so predictable.
Cheers,

39! Now I'm going back at 40! Hubby was 42, but he went to Disneyland as a kid. My kids were 9,7,3 and I'm so glad we went!

I was 34 years old and i loved every single second of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i felt more like a 6 or 7 yaer old but I guess that's what pixie dust does to you!!!!!

I grew up in PA and my family could never afford a trip to DL. WDW opened when I was a senior in HS. I finally made it to WDW in 1982 and DL in 2001! Since 2001 we've gone to WDW every year!

I was five, and it was also the first time I met my aunt and uncle who live in Florida. We stayed for a week then went to Key Largo and Key West, almost like my amazing graduation present this past summer :)

I was 5, and the park wasn't open yet, just the visitor center and what was then the disney marketplace and is now downtown disney. I remember seeing the castle under construction in the distance, and having a fit because we couldn't actually go to the park!
