I was just thinking about where we are in life and the money I have saved in my working lifetime. It seems we are a bit old to be buying now but we have a son who is younger than my grandchildren! More than an OPPS! It was OMG!!!

So here I am in entering into my late middle ages, almost 50 with a 3 yr old and getting ready to buy a DVC.

I have thought and it take maturity to make a serious financial decision, a good work history to have the money saved, long term planning to be able to have most things paid off to spend the savings, and a perfect credit score.

How old were you when you bought your first DVC and were you ready to buy?

Thanks, April

I was 28 and yes I was ready to buy. DH was 33/34 (we bought the week of his bday)

I was 47 earlier this year when we made our purchase at OKW. I plan to spend my 83rd birthday at OKW in January of 2042, so no, you are not too old. JMO :goodvibes

DH and I bought in 2003. We added on last year. We were 43 and 44 when we initially bought.

My husband and I are 30 and 32. We just bought this week. Our twins are only 2 years old, so I am sure we'll get our money's worth out of it! We're ready for such a purchase because we've worked really hard over the past 10 yrs, (college, career, etc) now it's time to celebrate and have fun with our kids.

We bought in 2004 and I was 39....strange thing, here we are in 2006 and I am still holding at 39 !!

That Disney magic is something else...

I see that Goofy's apprentice is well on his/her way to learning ALL of Goofy's mannerisms!!
We bought in 2004 at age 51, with children 18 and 13.
Sorry it was not sooner, but we will make up for that mistake with more and longer trips per year!!

I bought in last year when I was 43.

Bought in 1997 at age 54 - youngest child was 11 oldest was 30- we have had many great trips and look forward to many more. Will be 99 in 2042 and hope to spend my birthday at OKW sitting on the balcony.

Bought in this month . . .I'm 34, DH is 29. Wish we'd been in a position to do it sooner!

We just bought ourselves. I am 45, DH is 46 and we have 6 kids. Two are out and married and we also have 2 grandkids.

I am excited to be planning our first trip to WDW!! :thumbsup2

DW and I are both 36. We just Bought last month. We wish we could have bought in sooner because our children are getting older-- DD18, DD14, DD12. But now that I think about it, the Kids just slow us down at WDW :rotfl:

We bought in in April of 2005 when I just turned 60. The only regret is that I didn't get the 2054 contract because with our OKW and BWV contract I'll only be 98 when they expire. I guess we'll have to get an add-on for AKV to guarentee another 12 years.

We were 45 and 51. Our daughter was 18 and a senior in high school. No regrets.

We bought this year at 33 and 34. We have 3 young children ranging from 9 - 4 and plan on one more. We paid cash :cool1: and wish we had bought 4 years ago!!!!

We were 35/37 when we were ready to buy. Wish it could have been sooner (but the purchase of our house came first) as well because we were taking our kids to wdw every year since the youngest was 2. So we had 6 years of family vacations in wdw before we decided to become Members.

Well, we had purchased a couple new cars and our home by the time we were 28/30.....so we felt as ready and as mature as could be. We wanted to be able to take advantage of DVC while our kids were still young. When we bought, our kids were 7, 9 and 12 (they're all teens now). We had worked very hard during our 20's and 30's and felt we wanted to make our vacation/family time a priority in our lives. It's been one of the best "investments" we've made.

Just closed this month I'm 45 and my DH is 44. I have 2 girls 20 & 18. My DH has no children. Your never too old for disney!

We just closed this month on our OKW contract. I am 54 and DW is 53. Never to old for a piece of the MAGIC!!
