I chose other.

My sister is 4'10" and very young looking so even when she was taking the younger cousins around the neighborhood, people would give her candy too. This was when she was 16, 17, and 18

no set age as long as you are in costume and polite!!!!!:)

I agree:thumbsup2 It is alot better then if they went out and caused trouble. My kids trick and treated last year. DD18 was in college and Son 17 senior in high school/

 I went trick or treating when I was 18, but that's ONLY because some younger neighborhood kids came trick or treating at my door and begged me to join them for the rest of the night. HONEST!!! But I say any age is fine. As long as the person is dressed in a costume, I wouldn't care if they're 6 or 60.

Poll coming.

In my town, kids over the age 12 or so aren't supposed to participate in trick or treating. IMO, it's sad really because they enjoy it too and they're just getting to be old enough to go out on their own with their friends. FTR, our ToT is always on the Thursday before Halloween during the hours of 4-6, so it's not like they're out roaming around after dark.

Just wanted to know what your opinion is.

That's horrible! I would get a costume and go with him!

As long as the kid is from my neighborhood, still in high school and wearing a costume I give them candy. Actually if you've ever seen the Curb Your Enthusiasm where LD doesn't give the teens candy cause they're rude and not even in costume - they could have stolen that script from me.:rotfl:

Im a 16 year old girl, and I honestly hate the costume choices for girls my age. The ones at the dances have no creativity whatsoever, they barely even qualify for costumes.

I have always gone as my favourite movie characters. the last 3 years of highschool have been guys. Grade 9 I was Jack Sparrow, Grade 10 I was ghost rider( homemade) and grade 11(this year), i saved my money and I bought a grand heritage 200$ costume. Halloween is my favourite holiday and I actually try to put some effort into it. :)

ETA: This is my ghost rider costume from last year.

I am in my mid-teens and I take my 6 y.o. sister trick-or-treating all the time! I usually don't wear a costume, but I always bring a small bag or pail ;)

What upsets me about Halloween is that there are always those people who won't give my little sister candy because I am "too old to trick-or-treat." It's hard, sometimes, to explain to her after we leave what just happened and why she didn't get any candy :sad2:

DS is 12. He has been "done" for the past few years. But he has gone anyway because my nephew is younger. My older nephew always went when DS was little, so DS is returning the favor. He just walks along though and goes to the door with him while me, my mom and my sister stand on the sidewalk. He doesn't take candy from anyone, but helps Dominik remember to thank people. Don't know if he's going this year or not--Dominik is 9 now, so he may not want to go either.

I cant even imagine people not giving a 6 year old candy because you took her around.:confused3 Thats so wrong.:sad2:

Good job! I'm going to guess you live north since all the costumes you mentioned would cause heat stroke down here in Florida.

:lmao: Oh yeah its freezing on Halloween/ dance night. If you aren't wearing a costume, you're freezing before you even get let into the dance. It's kind of justice for people who wear skimpy costumes.

My costume hasn't arrived yet! And the dance is on the 30th! Saves a few high school kids from being out on devils night. I'll be sure to take pictures when I get all dressed up on the 30th and 31st :)

It sounds mean to stop at age 12!

I'll give candy to anyone in a costume. (OK- I'd give candy to an older kid without a costume to keep from getting egged or TP'd!)

I like it when the kids wait until it's almost dark. I don't like it when they start before 6 pm. And I turn out the light at 9 pm. And never on a day that isn't October 31st - what's up with that?

we went trick or treating in my town until we were seniors in high school. we live in a pretty small town though and knew almost all the people where we went trick or treating, so it was never a big deal. people were always nice to us. i grew up in the town over from where m&m's are made and we had a bunch of people who worked for the company in our town, so of course we wanted to go out and get the full sized candy bars! :thumbsup2
