I HAVE TWO DAUGHTERS, 2 1/2, AND 7 MONTHS. WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD AGE SO THAT BOTH COULD GET SOMETHING OUT OF THE VACATION. i UNDERSTAND THE LITTLE ONE WOULD HAVE TO BE AT LEAST 2 OR 3. THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT

IMO, if it were going to be your one and only trip, I would go at 7 and 5. If you plan on a trip every 2-3 yrs (as we do), I would say 5 and 3. We took my son at 3 1/2 and he had a ball and talks about DW constantly 2 months later. However, I plan on us going back next year or the year after. If this were going to be our only trip I would have waited until he was 5.

We took our boys for the first time at just turned 4 and 5 years old...they both loved it and still talk about it 6 months later. Our 4 year old was tall enough to ride all of the 40" rides.

I feel we started them at the right ages...if we had gone a year earlier our 4 year old wouldn't have been tall enough for the 40" rides which would have taken away from the trip greatly.

I agree. If it's a one and only trip, then 5/6 - 7/8 is perfect. We took DNiece and DNephew for their first trip at this age (6 and 8), and it was a wonderful experience. No strollers needed, could really see/do just about everything, and still young enough to really get into the spirit. We took them again at 8 and 10, and not quite as magical. Then, they were more about the roller coasters and less into the overall magic of the experience (parades, etc).

If you're going to go more often, 2 1/2 - 3 is a great age too for the younger child, so I agree with the 3 - 5. DS at this age (3) still believes the characters are real. It's truely magic for him. Plus, he can do many of the rides, just not the the Mountains at MK and a few others at the other parks. He's also old enough to enjoy the 3D shows, and the live shows too. He did not really get much out of the shows before 2 1/2.

All of my kids took their first trip at 2 1/2. to me the perfect time to go for the first time is 2 1/2-3.

Is this a one and only trip?
Our DD3 took her first trip at 22 months and it was so magical seeing the world through her eyes.
We are going again this year when she will have just turned 3 and our DS will be 9 months.
It has been almost a year since our trip and she still remembers some things. While I am sure she will remember nothing of her first trip as the years go by but we most def will.
