What Age For Wii?

I received an unexpected Christmas bonus from work this year. I've been thinking about using the money to surprise the family with a Wii. I thought it would be a great "family fun night" toy. Would a 5 year-old girl get much enjoyment from a Wii? She LOVES playing with her cousin's every time she visits his house. Just curious what other Wii families have experienced.

I think 5 is on the young edge. If she likes it at her cousins, she'll probably like it at home. We have lots of four and five year olds at our house playing with our Wii. They love it.

my son is 3 and loves playing!! he also likes the DS.

My 5yo LOVES playing the Wii when our friends bring theirs over. So much so that we are getting one (for the whole family, including her 8yo brother) for Christmas.

My kids love the Wii and they are 5 and 4....It is a wonderful way to get the whole family together. There are so many family fun games for this system...I think it is a great idea.

My ds5 has been playing it for over a year - he ranks 2 on almost all of the Wii fit games, behind dd12. There isn't a single game our 5 year olds can't play!

I think 5 is a perfect age. My older kids don't seem to like it much. But if they had had that out while my son was 5 he would of gone nuts for it.

We got ours when DD was 5. She has a lot of fun with it, especially the Disney Princess game. Right now she's working her way through Cosmic Family (4-8 year old recommended) and playing against DH on Boom Blox. They're releasing more titles for the younger set; I think she'll definitely enjoy it.

I think it will be good for here and there are some good games for kids her age.

The Wii is a big hit with the entire family! My 5 year-old can't get enough of the system so it's become a great incentive to get stuff doen around the house ...

We do have Wii Fit, but just got the Wii Outdoor Challenge. My SIL all have this game and their 3 & 4 year olds love it. My DS was playing it and also liked it. My DS will do some of the games in Wii Fit, he loves the running and does better then me.
