I'm having a hard time finding this online. Anyone seen it yet or read around what age this will be OK at?

I wanted to take my kids, but not if it is too scary. They are 4 1/2 and 7 1/2 and are very used to going to the movies. Youngest can probably tolerate more than my oldest. :confused3

Thanks!

I've read the book, and it doesn't sound like the movie would be too scary. I'd think the 7 1/2 year old would be fine. You may want to see it first, because you know your kids best. I think it looks like an awsome movie.

Are they very sensitive? There is a wrenching situation (don't want to give away too much, haven't seen the movie yet, just speaking about the books) that could be emotionally hard on kids as young as yours. But if they are able to tolorate emotional stuff well then I would take them.

DH and I went alone to see Harry Potter last week and I was very surprised to see so many YOUNG children at a PG movie. I know that many people will say that THEIR children can handle it, but there were many crying children in that theatre who had to be removed. The young girl in front of us (4 or 5) was so scared and climbed into her Mom's lap while idiot Dad was telling her to not be such a baby! :sad2:

ANYHOW...we saw a preview of Narnia and we both said that we would NOT be taking the kids. DD is 6 and DS (aspergers kid) is 11 but very sensitive and we have to watch out for nightmares. The movie looked very intense and even moreso on the big screen.

That is just my opinion tho... :)

Shan,

DH and I took DD4.5 and DD6 (almost 7) to the Narnia Visa Screening last Saturday. I knew that there were some intense parts to the story. I read the book to them during the week before to prepare them for it so they knew what would happen.

DD6 was totally fine with the movie and enjoyed it more because she knew the story and could see it "come to life." DD4.5 was fine with the movie even with the more intense parts because she knew what to expect and wasn't as disturbed when certain events happened.

They both loved the movie and was excited to have seen it before everyine else.

The reviewer in the Minneapolis Star Tribune said he would say 10 and up. He said it's a fantastic film, 4 out of 4 stars, but he said the battle is a little too intense for kids under 10.

That said I am taking my kids 9 (will be 10 in a month) and 12 tonight after dinner, they are very excited.

One word for this movie AWESOME!
If your child is usually has night mares than he could have problems with this. I don't believe it's any scarier than the Harry Potter movies. Even Lord of the Rings, seemed more scary, especially since on those movies the evil things stayed on the screen longer. While Narnia, it's rather quickly, with the camera moving fast.

I am taking my DS10 but am not sure about my DD6.I am worried about my DS8 who is VERY sensitive at the movies. His best friend's bday party invoves seeing this movie. And I won't be with him.
