What age for American Girl books?

I'm doing some Christmas shopping and I saw some American Girl books that looked interesting. One was about doing your hair and the other was nail and skin care. For those of you in the know...what age range do you think these are appropriate for? Thank you!

My niece has been a fan since she was probably 5 or 6.

I would think the hair and nail books would be fine for most ages 5+. However, the age group that most of the AG books target are probably more like 8+. My oldest got The Care and Keeping of You when she was 9, and it discusses body changes, good hygiene, periods and friend issues. My other daughter got the Tiny Treats book at 7.
