I didn't say I gave her the soda..she helped herself off the table, and we saw her under the table drinking it (and scarfing down chips) and I wasn't about to be responsible for her getting time out at a party. It wasn't my job to be the food police, when her parents were there. However, her Oma (the other grandma) actually gave it to the kids when she babysat..not this grandma LOL..I wasn't going to face the wrath of my daughter!. She's almost 13 and seldom drinks soda now, and believe me, there are no weight issues from the amount of soda she did sneak. It was pretty funny at the party to see her sneaking it, even funnier to hear her mom offer her some and her turn it down because she was full..of soda and chips. I still think it was funny..you can't dissuade me of that laugh I get even now picturing it.
PS I hate soda myself.

I don't mean to cause trouble or flame, but I just had to say something as I wonder about it and how you (DMRick and Buckalew11) feel about disobeying their rules without regard to what the parents want for their child(ren). Do you do this to "spoil" them?
My dad does this and it grates meyet I realize he may just be trying to "spoil" them. Then again he and my mom have diabetes.
