Parents of a 4 and 1 year old looking to make first Disney cruise in July '05. Only have taken cruise once before (no children at time) and know that we want a verandah. Are pack and plays or cribs available? And if so, where do you put them in the room if the four year old is using the single convertible sofa. Looking to get smallest room for the job since we will be going on to Disney afterwards for quite some time. ????deluxe stateroom with verandah or deluxe family stateroom with verandah????

Yes Pack and Play cribs are available. The decision about which stateroom is up to you. If you look at the stateroom "footprints" on the DCL website, there is more room on the Deluxe Family Stateroom. But if you get a verandah stateroom that sleeps 4, perhaps your 4 YO could sleep in the drop down "bunk" so you wouldn't have to make the couch into the bed. Just a thought.

We also have a 1 and 4 year old, but plan to have the 4 year old sleep on the top bunk -- the one that drops down, and put the 1 year old (actually 18 months) on the pull out sofa. We asked for bedrails in advance for both girls.

This is exactly what we did when we sailed with our 4YO and 18 month old. If you book a stateroom that hold 4 people, you will get a room with the pull-down bunk. You truly won't need a pack-n-play for a 1YO. A category 6 is the cheapest stateroom with a veranda that will sleep 4. We've booked this room twice and it's GREAT!!!

Not sure if you know this or not but next summer the Magic will be sailing out of California, not Florida for 7 night cruises.

Are you planning on going on the Magic or the Wonder? The Wonder will be the ship that sails out of Florida next summer but will only be doing 3 and 4 night cruises, not 7.
