Howdy Yall!
It's gittin' 'bout time to rustle up some grub!
Can anybody fill me in on trail's end buffet over at Ft Wilderness for this year,2005?We have eaten there for the last three years for lunch, for one day of each trip.Of course it seems like the price goes up just a little each year. But anyway, does anyone have any current info on the place? The current price per buffet, and anything else?
Thanks for any info. :confused3

We have had dinner at Trail's End the past couple of trips to WDW and have always enjoyed it. We found it to be a nice change of pace to the hustle and bustle of the crowds. We had dinner on our last visit a couple of weeks ago and were very disappointed. They had expanded their seating into the bar area. My family and I were at a table right next to the door of the bar. We had to go out and up stairs or all the way across a room, up a long ramp, and across another room to get to the food. The food had also taken a turn for the worse. It looked and tasted as if it had been sitting out for a long time. Normally, we are not picky eaters! We all agreed that we will wait a few years before we visit again.

Had breakfast there in early August...it is a family tradition....it was good as always...I decided the price had indeed gone up...I believe it is now $10.99/pp for breakfast and lunch and $17.99 for dinner....however that did include a beverage, so by WDW standards I guess it isn't bad. Lots of food...we have always had great service there, and still love the unhurried, uncrowded atmosphere at breakfast and lunch....haven't had dinner there in years.

They have expanded to included the space that used to be Crocketts Tavern years ago...and you now check in down at that end of the restaurant and check out down at the other end (where they used to try and do check ins and carry out/bakery orders, so it could get really congested and confusing)...this seems to work much better....we have not ever been there when they were using the Crocketts Tavern end for seating, but as the previous poster stated....if you were down there it might be quite a hike to the food.

It fills you up, but I wouldn't consider it great food. The chicken is good. Everything else is just fair

The last time we were there was back in 2003 and the food was good. Did not have anything bad at all and the service was good too.

Does this mean you can't get a pizza at Crocketts Tavern anymore? :sad2: Our family likes to stop in for a pizza or two each time we go. At least when the kids were little, it didn't pay to do the buffet because they never eat their money's worth, and now Crocketts had become somewhat of a tradition. We even stopped in there last year when FW was closed because of the hurricanes. It was really eerie, too. The bar was open, the tvs were on, but nobody was home. :confused3
