What about Dollar Car Rental?

Okay, so you guys on this board give me the best ideas. I was looking into renting a car for Feb 07. I was looking at both Hertz and Avis because I had coupons for those places. They both seemed to be about the same and I was ready to make resies, then I read a thread on here about Dollar Car Rental. I can't believe how much cheaper they are!!! Does anyone have experience with Dollar? I would appreciate as always your opinions.

Used them from MCO and now are renting at a DTD hotel location .

I've used just about all of them at one point or another and now it just comes down to price and price only

Dollar is definately the cheapest I have found for Feb 07. I think I will go ahead and book.

I can only get a rate of $614 at dollar for a minivan from 2/15 to 2/26. Is this good? I am used to rates around $200 to $300 tops for the same amount of days.

I have used Dollar dozens of times and never had a problem. I've used all of the major companies and they are all reliable - I always go with the best price.

There is a thread on here called "codes and coupons 2007" that has great information concerning codes for rentals. It looks like some people are getting great deals for Minivans from Dollar. You might want to check out that thread.

I got a better rate through Thrifty than Dollar. Got a mini van for $154/week instead of $249/week (I think) at Dollar. Could have got 5% off as well but chose to use the magic card corporate id to get the free additional driver.

Thrifty and Dollar are my favorites; often right next to each other and almost always the best rates.
