We are trying this for the fuirst time in 2 weeks' time. Has anyone eaten there recently? What would you recommend? Is the wine flight worth it? (I saw a review of the wine flight at Artists Point and the reviewer was not impressed by the tiny wine glass for each offering!)

my wife and i went to citricos about a year ago; easy to get reservation...

it was one of our best meals! the food and service were great and it is in a nice space with a good view. not crowded or loud.

didn't have the wine flight; we prefer to choose our own bottles.

hope this helps!

I've been there many times and it is one of my favorite places at WDW. Enjoy your meal there!

I was there last month and it was the best of the SS restaurants we went to.

I had the filet mignon and it was outstanding.

I am so excited to hear this! We are eating there on our first night!:cool1: Can't wait!

You will LOVE it there and it is a great first-night restaurant.

Their rosemary focaccia bread with the citrus-infused butter that they serve before meals is fabulous.

Yum! I didn't know about the bread...we LOVE bread...just the thought is making my mouth water:rotfl:

Not sure why, but so far, Citricos has failed to "wow" us. We've eaten there twice and are returning again on Friday, so you know, obviously I am not saying it's bad....just that I keep expecting to be more impressed. :confused3

It doesn't help that our servers have been....less than friendly...to say the least. Again, not sure why!

IIRC, it was there that when I asked our server if they offered a cheese plate (since we like to start with one, goes well with a nice bottle of wine while we await our meals) I was treated with a shocked exclamation of "you want it now?! It's customary to eat a cheese course after your meal.". Thanks, I was so unaware of that. :rolleyes1 Lovely to be treated like some hick because I actual enjoy a cheese course first.

As for the view, both times we have been seated at the window, the views we had were of the GF pool. I noticed the latest Zagat guide mentions the wonderful view of the lagoon. I can't imagine any tables have that view....? I do like the sound of Uncleromulus' "poor man's chefs table". I would love to be near the kitchen. I wonder if we can request this on Friday?

Anyway, in the end I would recommend that anyone try Citricos, just thought I would mention that so far in two trips it hasn't quite lived up to our expectations.

The bread and butter with a small salad would be a meal to me!!

My kids still talk about the butter.

Perfect!:thumbsup2 Now I know that DH and I can split a meal here...I always have a hard time eating much beyond the salad course at a restaurant that serves bread...and the butter...I can't wait...we have a restaurant here called Texas Roadhouse that serves cinnamon butter with freshly baked bread...It's sooooooo gooooood. I think we can just supplement the one meal plan with some salads and wine OOP, no problem.:cool1:

DS will of course get his own meal. Since you have been there before with kids...is the fried cheese on the menu like fried cheese sticks or fried cheese triangles? the kind you would dip in marinara? DS LOVES those.

Oh, I hope you won't be disappointed. I've been to Texas Roadhouse and, to me, that's more like the Hoop Dee Doo with regards to butter.;) The butter at Citricos is not whipped. It is served European style--a slab--with a sprinkling of sea salt on top. The sea salt is what is infused with the citrus. It's very good.

I got a salad there and it was very tiny. Again, this is not like regular restaurant where you're going to get a bowl or a large plate of salad. It's definitely an appetizer where you get a few bites.

As for the kids stuff--my DD ordered off the adult menu and my son got the pasta. We never even saw the fried cheese so I have no idea what it is like. The kids "Dog Bones" are to die for though. Cute and delicious.

Everything here is done kind of elegantly so I'm just not sure how the fried cheese will be.

Oh, I won't be disappointed. All butter is good.

I figured that everything would be portioned very well. DH and I are going to split the appetizer, entree, and dessert, add two salads (one for each of us). DS doesn't really eat his veggies and sides (he's a midwest MEAT boy), so more supplementation there...we are eating an early dinner, too, so there will be room for the famous gelato back at BC, which I am also more than ready to try!;)

Thanks for all your info, very helpful.:cutie:
