This is what a CM said to me the other day when I called to make reservations for CRT. This is my 1st trip in years to Disney, so I have been doing all my research. (Restaurants have been the most difficult part for me)! Anyway, I read somewhere that you should request a window seat at CRT. I can't remember where I read this or what the reason was. The CM said she doesn't understand this because you can't see out of the windows-they are stained glass. She nicely said that I should have some common sense. Does anyone have info? Thanks!

We've had a window seat front and center twice...and yes they are stainded glass, but you can "see"...I mean we could see rides in Fantasyland....

I've seen a map of the seating in the castle, it didnt show where the windows were, or how many... in fact someone has posted pictues of their brkfsts, and you can see the stained glass windows in the background....

I believe I've read that you can 'request' a window seat when you come to check in at the podium at the castle...

anyone know for sure - this Oct is our first time at the castle!! :bounce:

We did't request it but my DD and I got "the best seat in the castle" for CRT breakfast. It was the one in the little alcove overlooking the carousel. I remember being able ot look out the window and see Fantasyland( I don't think the ENTIRE window was stained glass because I could see out of it perfectly). However this table is only for two.
I'm sorry I didn't notice the tables at the other windows --I was too busy picking my jaw off the ground from being INSIDE the castle with "the best seat IN the castle" :jumping1:

So it sounds to me like I should still request a window seat. Thanks for the replies!

You can see out them enough to see rides in Fantasyland and we watched part of Wishes! through them in June.

Yep we sat in that same special table by luck- looking out over the carousel. And you can absolutly see out the windows. It was really special but I think it just was luck of the draw. My DD was in heaven looking out over Fantasyland and having all the princesses come over(before the change of princesses) It was a magical memory. But when we ate there and had a regular table it was great too- but just in a different way.

Last year for my DD's 3rd birthday they put us in that table - it was AWESOME!!

I didn't have my digital camera that day (can you believe I forgot it?!?!) but I will find our pics and scan them for you - you can see out the window no porblem!!

I found these on the web - this will help you see how the windows are

I'll post my pics tonight - shutterfly is blocked from work - can you believe it;)

Wow! The CM told me that she has been there several times and has no idea what would make a window seat preferable. I will def. request one! Thanks for the pics!
This is going to be my DD's 3rd birthday trip as well!

We had that table for DD's 5th birthday! The view was great and the bday decorations made it even more special. We didn't request a window seat either, but had her bday noted on our PS for 2 at 8:05. I think that increased our odds. Any seatings after 8:05, and window seats probably depend on when the first diners finish their meals. I'd imagine it's pretty much luck of the draw at that point.

I am not sure that you can request a window seat - mainly due to the need to get everyone in as soon as possible.

We were lucky enough to have a table by the window on our trip in June. It is difficult to explain where, but we were in on the end of the window on the left if you were standing at the stairs looking over the dining room.....make sense? :rolleyes1

Anyway, one of the best features of sitting by the windows - other than looking out over Fantasyland - is that you have the light at your back when taking pictures. And you always want the light at your back when taking pictures. If you are sitting on the other side of the room and taking pictures with the windows (and most of the light) in the background, the pictures can look kind of "dark".

Here are our views from last week, the window is VERY foggy from the heat and humidity, but they were not stained glass:

Did the cast member actually say for you to have some common sense? Did you get her name?

Yes, the CM told me to have some common sense. I know it sounds harsh-reading it like that, but she really meant it as a joke. She told me that the windows are stained glass and you can't see through them...so I should use some common sense. Ok-still sounds harsh, but really in the context of the conversation I understood it as light sarcasm.

She may have meant it as light sarcasm, but there is just no place for that in customer service. I wish we could contact her and direct her to these boards so that she can see the windows!! UGH!!

Even though the windows were foggy when I took the pictures, we were able to see out just fine, it was beautiful!

I agree! I really can't believe how well you can see out the windows. I have never been to CRT, and from the way the CM went on and on about it, I really thought the windows were opaque! She claimed to have been there this past May as well, and said "So unless they have changed the windows since, you will not be able to see out of them." :confused3 She also said that she gets this question often-(I'm pretty sure I read about it in the Unofficial Guide), so there must be a lot of others confused when they get there and can actually see out the windows! :rotfl:

You can definitely see thru the windows, however, only a few tables have the window right next to their tables. For most of CRT, you can't really see much outside the windows except for rooftops.

It's nice to get a window seat, but it's not really anything that should detract you from the main purpose you're going there - either the characters, the ambiance or the actual food.

The only advantage I would imagine is for dinner, and should Wishes be preformed during your meal.

I have to disagree - it was pretty awesome to be eating right there overlooking Fantasyland as we ate!!!

We were at a table away from the windows our last trip and although is was just as great - the room did seem a little darker and closed off to me!!! (we were on the upper level when you walk straight out of the stairs) But again - not having the window didn't change how much we loved it!
