Excellent pictures, Cindy! I can certainly see why you won so many ribbons!! Great job! :)

and Judith....i love to take pictures....probably too much as my son now runs when he sees the camera come out.

Congrats Cindy! Your pictures are beautiful! :)

I am off to the camera store tonight to see if they will let me combine the Gift Cert. and get a nice camera bag. If not I have film developing for several months which is ok too!!!

 Congrats-- .
Keep taking pics.

The Pictures are AWESOME!!!

Congratulations, your Pictures are amazing.

Your pictures look great! I just got the same camera, myself. What lenses/ filters do you use? I am trying to decide what to get for our upcoming Disney trip. Thanks for any help! :goodvibes

I bought the Tamron 28-200 lens to go with the canon body. I was debating for awhile about it and decided I wanted a little more zoom than the canon xt kit lens was offering. But being a complete newbie to the SLR game I was a little nervous. Looking forward to getting a new lens with even more zoom soon. But first I need the good camera bag to store everything in.

Filter ...I bought just a UV clear to go with the Tamron lens. Don't know the brand off the top of my head and I am at work I can tell you later when I get home. I know there are filters built into the camera and I have yet to learn to use them. I need a class to learn all this.

You will love this camera, be patient with yourself if your new to it like me. It has great auto point and shoot modes.

In the manual settings......

One of my favorite features in the depth of field button on the front. If your looking through the viewfinder it would be near your left hand, on the front close to the lens. You get your subject lined up, settings set and then prefocus and then push this button. It will show you in the viewfinder what your picture will look like. You would be surprised how often you think the lighting is perfect and it will show you a darker picture. This allows you to fix the Aperature settings so your pic will look good. I use this at ball games before I start taking pics to see where I want the manual settings to be. But like I said I know very little about Aperature and Fstops and such.

Oh and another cool thing is when you review your pics on the camera itself it has a button to push to show what settings you used. This way if something comes out awesome you will know what settings to use in the future. Of course once you delete your card that info is gone, so don't be like me and forget to write it down.....dah.

And yet another favorite...Canon has a XT for dummies video out. Of course that isn't what it is called but thats what I call it. Its DVD format and I have used it and reused it to get some of the tips they offer. First time through I was like...OMG i will never learn this camera, but I did!!!:)

Sorry for rattling on.....hope this helps.

I just bought that camera today! I am so excited! Your pics look amazing. I wonder if I can get that DVD in Canada?

wow those are some great shots!
Cannon rebel you say!??! HMMM Granted I am not in the market but I have a feeling I may have to start saving for it! I love my fuji but looking at your pictures the clarity is definately better.
What was the setting for the pitching one?

wow those pic are awesome!!! good for you.
congrats to you and your son. very nice job. i only wish i could take pics that nice. i have a reg 35 mm and a 4meg kodak digital. i have been wanting a new camera, and have been trying to do my research. there is a very nice lady over on the theme park strategies board who has a cannon 20d and her pics are also very nice. it looks like cannon is the one!
how many megapixles is your rebel?

thanks for the info :teeth:

I believe the Canon Rebel XT is 8.3 mega pixels. But some one told me that there are only so many effective mega pixels that the camera/printer can read. I don 't know enough about computers to say if thats true. But I do love this camera. And I have to say compared to my HP 850 which also took beautiful pictures the speed on this camera is AWESOME!!!!!!No lag time whatsoever.....big time important with my baseball player. Now remember I do get some bad pics and I only showed you the good ones :rolleyes1 But with the speed at least I can take a bizilion and get the good ones I used to miss. Over all after much research (and one return of the Nikon D70 which some of the girls here have and love) I think I made the right choice.

Limmer good luck with the camera, and I would think you could get the DVD in Canada. Its made by Canon, so check at your local photo store.

Congratulations! Your pictures are beautiful! :flower:
