What a week!! Back to reality.......

BUMMER!!!!

Fred and I had such a great week. To begin with we stayed at the Star Island resort saturday to monday. That was to just relax and rest. We did not get as much as we would have liked, as we had the "Olympics" starting early on the floor above our condo. As well as a darling family who spoke very broken english, with a precious child who had the time of his life, opening and shutting the adjoining door on their side of our condo. He also was quite fond of knocking on our door and ringing our doorbell. Such a "treasure". We should have buried him!!!!!!:rolleyes:

On saturday afternoon, we went to DTD to Pintraders to see if any friends were hanging out and do to our "Lanyard Alert". Met up with a nice CM manager, who saw that I was into patriotic pins, so he showed me some for sale, which I already had. Then he took me to sales counter and took one out that I didn't have. I was tickled. A family with three kids showed up and he traded with them. We then invited the kids to trade out of a little bag we carry just for kids with rack, lanyard and LE pins. They can trade whatever for whatever in it. After we said goodbye, The manager Earl presented us with the 2004 Mickey and Stitch CTT. Believe it or not was speechless! It was a wonderful way to start our first day of vacation.

On monday morning, we checked out and headed for our new lodging, the Holiday Inn Niki Bird resort. This is the same place we stayed at for our honeymoon. It was better than the Star Island resort believe it or not. When we got to our room, we found a very nice gift basket awaiting us with a nice card from the resort for our anniversary. Nice touch!

On monday evening we had a PS for Cape May, one of our favorite places to dine. It was as good as ever! We had a wonderful waitress named, May. She was priceless. She found out I love salt water taffy and brought out a plate with pink strawberry taffy in the shape of a heart. too cute. At the end before we left she brought me out a bunch more taffy. Yummy!

On tuesday, we got up and went to Kona's for Tonga Toast. Oh my word!!! If you have never had it, you've GOT to try it! It was so wonderful. And NO syrup needed!! We will do it again!! After breakfast we were gonna head over to Animal Kingdom, but we got a better offer. Donna, took us to Cast Connection to shop. Oh my goodness! It was just so much fun. Fred got me two Pooh watches, we bought a couple more door prizes for Party, and the best thing was, we got a Steiff "Big Al" from last years Doll and Teddy convention. Retail $295, we got it for $62. "Big Al" was my daddy's fav character so I had to have it. It is a treasure to me.

Wednesday was our anniversary, so we got dressed for it. We wore our special T's I bought from the disney Catalouge. They had bride & groom Mickey and Minnie, with "Still Celebrating The Magic" and our wedding date of July 28th, 1984. I wore my Minnie bridal ears and Fred wore his Mickey ears Top-hat. And we sported for the first time, our Bride & Groom lanyards that Jeff made for us with all of our wedding/honeymoon/loveydovey pins on them.:earsgirl: :earsboy:

We then headed for our favorite Park, EPCOT. We has a PS for lunch at the Garden Grill. The food there was fab and the service just terrific! At the end of lunch, a CM came to our table and asked us to stand. She introduced us and announced it was our 20th anniversary. She then said we had to get "rehitched". Which included kissing while they counted to 100!!! Fortunately they cut us some slack as they counted, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90,100!! Whew!! They then presented us with a certificate for our being "rehitched" and some awesome strawberry shortcake.

We walked around the countries and stopped and had our yearly picture done at the spot where we met 21 years ago and struck up a conversation. The bridge by China. Always special.

We went to Port Orleans riverside that afternoon and did some pin trading. I got to chat with Debbie and Jeff Matthews from Pin event services. Got to share some ideas and such with them. It was fun.

That night we had dinner at the California Grill. WOW!!!:earseek:
It was such a fabulous experience. We met Bridget who as it turned out was the general manager there. I had no idea. I just saw she had on a lanyard and asked if I could look. We were sitting in the lounge waiting for our table. We got to chatting and she noticed we were dressed up. She asked what the occasion was. We told her, she recognized the last name and said they were working on a special table for us. Within just minutes, we were seated at our table, right next to the window with the most wonderful view you could imagine. Our table was sprinkled with "Pixie Dust" (Mickey ears) and a nice card was in the middle congradulating us on our anniversary. The food of course was to die for. And just as we finished our main course, "Wishes" started, and the lights dimmed and the music started. It was so breath taking to see from there. As "Wishes" ended I gave Fred his gift which was a Lenox statue of Steamboat Willie, in ivory colored china with gold edging. Just then our waiter, Micheal, brought a special dessert I ordered in advance. A white chocolate Mickey with gold dust trim and 6 "tuxedo" strawberries. The timing was perfect and Fred was so surprised! They also gave us a picture/card from Mickey and Minnie wishing us a happy anniversary. It was too cool beyond words. What a day! What a night!

Thursday we slept in and rested a bit. We has a PS for Crystal Palace in the MK. It was fun and the food was terrific. But boy, since this is a character meal with Pooh & friends, it was noisy with lots of kids. We didn't mind, and enjoyed watching little faces light up as the characters stopped and had fun with the children.

After lunch we hopped on the monorail and went to the contemporary as I had left my small pin trading bag at the restaurant the night before. Since we were some of the last in the place, the bag was found just fine. No problems. We then left and headed back to hotel for Fred to take a cat nap. I played and checked boards on my lap top. That evening we went to All-Star Sports for pin trading. I did LOTS of good trades. And Fred was so patient with this one family with 3 kids wanting to trade with him. We had met them earlier in the week. The one boy told Fred how much he loved Steamboat Willie. So since Fred didn't have any to trade, he made trades for 2 to trade to this boy. One of them was from last years POM that was on an easel with Steamboat Willie on it. So thursday night they show up and all the boy has is lanyard pins. So Fred traded him a rack for this HTF pin. That's my hubby!! By the way, I also landed one of my HG's that night. I traded for the FLUBBER pin. Can we say, "HAPPY PIN DANCE"!!!!

WOW! It was friday already. The day of our party. We got up leisurely and took our time. My sister and niece arrived at the hotel around noon. We went and started decorating for the party, and getting food trays ready. Wow! Did we have alot of door prizes!! Good ones too. The Daytona 500 Mickey pace car, (large and small one), TY Bride and Groom LE bears, TY Patriotic LE Bears, Large Mickey pluch, Toon Town event gift set, 100 years 4 parks LE 1000 pin set, 2 sets of DCL beach pail set, 4 parks beach towel, pins, pins pins, DA PINS -LE 250 tourist Stitch lanyard, DA PINS -LE 250 Stitch pin bag (everybody wanted this!!), Marie Osmond Adora Beau Pin Trader doll, and lots more. It was fun seeing who won what. And since we didn't have the 40 people I made plans for, EVERYONE went home with a door prize. It was perfect. We had 28 in attendance.

Some pin traders I had not met showed up first and introduced themselves. But I sadly have such a rotten memory. One has the board name "slitchcloudchaser". He brought 2 friends with him. Then Dana Allensworth showed up with her hubby Micheal and kids, Justin and Brittany. I was so happy as she wasn't sure if they'd make it when this was first planned. Then June and Bob and Donna showed up. Then Ken (tugnett), and then my biggest surprise.... I wasn't sure he'd make it as I had been told he was out of town and might not make it....but he DID!!In came Halland with his beautiful wife and daughter Natalie. I was just thrilled beyond words. They only thing that would have completed my joy would have been to have Manny, Michele and Dillon. I really missed you guys. Oh, my friend from Daytona, Penny was there. She made the now famous Chocolate covered strawberries. Most of my immediate family was there including, my sis, Dee, Her daughters, Beth and Chrissy, Chrissy's hubby Jesse and the 3 kids, Meagan-5, Amber-2 and Joshua - 5 months. We were also missing our wonderful Ed who was late because of being stuck in his hollow mountain and then stuck in traffic. He finally showed up about 11PM.

We had such a fantastic time. Halland helped me with the games. We played Bingo. I made it a "cover-all" game which we thought would never end. I'm not sure how but we had three winners. LOL! The we played win,loose or draw. That was so much fun!!
The we played Disney Trivia. That was quite a learning experience.

The Fred and I cut the cake - kodak moment. Fed each other and had a toast. Halland was so wonderful and did the toast.He was sweet as well as funny. And talk about generous.. well, since Scoop was unable to attend he had Halland do the honors. He presented us with the new promo pin trading 1,2,3 pin, an old Disney copyright Pooh pin, some lovey dovey type,pins, a Magical gathering pin from the moonlight cruise - to signify our celebration, a little "Wendy" pin, as close to Winnie as you can get, and then finally a 2004 Mickey and Stitch CTT!! So now we each have one to wear. It was quite a moment and surprise:earseek: :earseek:

Then I made a toast and just shared how amazingly these little pieces of metal have touched our lives. I reminiced about how close Fred & I have become to these special people. All because of this hobby. I know I would never have met them otherwise. It was just an overwhelming moment. I then shared and toasted my wonderful husband Fred, and how blessed I am to have him. He is my heart.

It was such a wonderful week, loaded with magical moments I will never forget. My hearfelt thanks to all who shared our joy, and thank you for the good wishes to all.

Congrats on 20 years and to many more. I am sorry that Mom and I didn't get to be there with you to celerbrate. Hope to see ya soon.

You guys really met on the bridge in the China pavilion... How cool. Sounds like you had a great week. The California Grill is very nice. And a late but heart felt

Now that my week is getting back to normal...I had company all last week, and they left on Fri morning..just in time to let me go to Winnie and Freds' anniversary party.....and trust me...these people know how to do it right!!!!!!

I mean...we came home w/ the gifts....I like the way that worked..

We had a ball...and after playing Winnies' Disney Trivia...we all learned how much we DIDN'T know about Disney :(

So thank you guys for a fun filled evening..and my wish for you both is many more Disney years together :cheer2:

Sounds like a great party. I wish I could have been there to see the awarding of the CTT and all the fun and games. It sounds like Raul tagged all the food so I guess saving me a piece of cake was out of the question. I want to see pictures and hear all about the event when I get there next month.

I sure wish I could have been there with you both, but work calls and I have to answer if I want to go to the event in September.
It sounds like you had a great time and I hope you bring the photo album full of memories when I see you at the event.
