We found out today a girl we work with had a baby last monday. Nothing unusual about that you might think but she never knew she was pregnant!!! She went to the hospital last monday because she was bleeding and thought she may be having a misscarriage it turns out she was in labour and gave birth to a 9 pound 4 ounce boy!! None of us could tell and she had been lifting heavy boxes every day at work. We are all shocked not as shocked as Karen obviously LOL

Oh bless!, no time to adjust, to plan or to shop!, but what a great gift. Hope they're all ok

That happened 12/13 years ago with a girl I worked with and used to go school with. Same kind of scenario, she still smoked, went out and drank, still on the pill, and having her periods, when one day she had bad tummy pains went home from work and went to see the doctor, who though she may have appendisitus and sent her to the hospital, who then told her she was about to deliver!!!! :scared1: and had her son Jon. She already had a daughter, so had all the basic baby stuff. I remember saying to her imagine if the baby was her first, to have no baby things whatsoever would have been awful! It was a shock to everyone as you say, but she didn't have a bump or anything and was really slim anyway. But she made it onto Central news, Our regional evening news programme!!

That's some shock!!! I had a 9lb 4oz baby and I was enormous!!!! How fab tho'... :thumbsup2

oh my goodness what a shock

Wow what a shock and as others have said no time to prepare, hope they're both doing well :goodvibes

What a lovely surprise - although my DH wouldn't see it that way if it happened to me :lmao:

Wow! Glad both are well

Oh my goodness!! That must have been a bit of a surprise!

What a surprise. I guess she had an easy time of it then, no morning sickness or back ache.

Oh my god what a surprise. I am still shocked as to how people wouldnt know. I was enormous with my first and with all the kicking and sticking out of the baby parts in my tummy I cant understand how they wouldnt know. Hey ho it happens. :confused3

Wow, a nice surprise, glad they are both doing ok:goodvibes

She had no sickness or anything lucky madam LOL. We have started a collection for them today the only thing they had was a cot from their previous children so we are getting vouchers to help them get what they need.

I cant understand either - being a mum of two I think I knew within about three weeks of concieving both and i had fairly easy pregnancies....
This happened with a woman at a previous workplace of mine and although I never worked directly with her, when the news broke and everybody was shocked, they were even more shocked when I said I thought everybody realised she was pregnant - sorry but it was soooooo obvious  Just because somebody doesnt announce it to the world doesnt mean you cant work it out for yourself!

Thats the thing with Karen none of us could tell she just looked like she was a little overweight LOL
