What a nice surprise!

DH is getting ready to ship out to Iraq in June. We have been going through his things at home, and making lists of what we need to get yet. He was looking for a soap dish, and when he found it he opened it up. Inside was a bar of Mickey soap, from our last trip in December 2002!! It put a smile on all our faces!

Oh my goodness, your post brought back some memories for me. I had forgotten what an ordeal packing for deployment is, lol. The A bag, B Bag, C Bag and deciding what should go and in what bag you should pack it. Then deciding your first choices were incredibly stupid and repacking...each one...over and over and over, lol.

I don't know what it's like now (our soldier went to Iraq just before the war started and spent a year there) Do they give you a good idea of what to pack in which bags? I remember so plainly saying goodbye to Titus while he was stuffing a roll of toilet paper into his carryon (they handed one to every soldier that morning, lol, it was just so funny to see all these soldiers with camo, weapons, and gleaming white toilet paper).
