I am Totally flabbergasted I dont even know what to say.... I HAD THE BEST DAY EVER!!!!!
I was at work today and my manager calls me into the office. Everything was going through my head like "OK what went wrong today, but still knowing I had done nothing wrong I had all these thoughts going through my head. I mean no one gets called in there unless there's something big to discuss...
SOOOO I went into the office and my manager asked me when I was taking my vacation dates next year because he needs me around a certain time. I told him I put in for the days of May 6-14 for Disneyland. He said um no we have it written down here that your going until the 18th... I looked at him
totally confused. I said "I dunno what your talking about, I know the dates I had requested". He said "Well didnt you speak with your mom yet?" I was like UM no why would I have to talk to my mom and how do you know I have to talk with her? He said well maybe you should talk with her before we continue on with this convo.
I left the office, called my mom at her work and asked "What the heck is going on?" my mom replied, oh well I wanted to surprise you but I talked with your work about letting you have a few extra days off for our vacation. I thought maybe we extend it by a few days to spend a few extra days at the park. No extra charge on your part. Its all on your dad and I.... Lemme tell you I was standing in the staff room doing this and squeeling at the top of my lungs
My coworkers laughed at me
So i went back to my manager and he laughed and said I had it booked off as long as I am back by the 20th
I worship my parents right now.

You are lucky to have such a wonderful family. 
And yes, I agree with your idea of doing something nice for them while you are there...one sweet gesture deserves another.
