I'm constantly kidded about being the anal planner in the family but it certainly paid off today!

I checked our airline itinerary online, even though we've received no changes from the airline, and, surprise!, dear old Airtran had us leaving many hours later than planned and, of course, arriving NOT in time for our Candlelight Processional package. I called, expecting no resolution because of the holidays and all, but much to my surprise and delight they are flying us down a day earlier (thank goodness we are flexible this year) with an apology as they acknowledged it was their fault! Wahoo #1

Then I called Member Services with little hope of adding on to our reservation and only having a few points left for this year and, whaddayaknow, we got an night added on and had just enough points to cover it! Santa Baby! Wahoo #2!

Then I logged in to cancel our car rental reservation and add on a day and, hallelujah, we had accrued some free days and a free offer somehow since our first booking and we saved over $100 on the rental! Well, shut the front door! Wahoo #3!

So often we use the forum to complain...I just had to share our pre-Christmas miracles with my favorite people! May your holidays be wonderful, everyone!

Now if I could just find someplace open that's selling lottery tickets.........

that's amazing - you must have done something right this year to get so much Yule cheer! Congratulations!! :cool1::cheer2:

How wonderful that you received so much pixie dust! pixiedust:

WOW, you must have a lucky Mickey foot on you somewhere!

WOW!!! How about you! That's awesome, congratulations on your holiday magic. Now, if I were you I'd find a casino stat! :lmao:

Hold on..... I have to sit down from the shock of hearing the Air Tran changed a flight time......

Glad your preparation paid off!

I find myself smiling after reading your post. You must have done something wonderful to deserve this great karma.:worship:

Wow tink loves you today! What a great story! Thanks for sharing. :goodvibes

I just found this post today, it caught my eye because I too am a planner. I went online to check my flights for our trip in Feb and our SW flights were fine but our delta flights (which already changed from direct non-stop to a connection) changed again with a big warning sign saying "due to a schedule change you may possibly miss your connecting flight" :scared1: WELL our flight out of Orlando departs at 3:30 and was suppose to connect thru ATL around 5:00 now the connection leaves at 3:10, WHAT????? :headache: No notification which I did get for the 1st schedule change! I am still not happy that they no longer have the non-stop flights since I would not have booked with them if I even thought that was a possibility due to the time of years and storms that can be brewing! We had other choices for direct flights but price and schedule we went with Delta - by the time they changed the flights the other carriers were way too expensive and almost sold out do to peak travel time. With that all being said I am just glad I caught it, found a semi acceptable flight and had them change it for me. Morale of this CHECK your flights/itinerary every so often I know that if much more time had passed I could have been in a real mess with this reservation!

Your experience is exactly why we are boycotting Delta! We live in the Minneapolis/St Paul area, since Delta took over NWA, this has happened to us EVERY trip. We book a non-stop for extra money, and they always change it to a connecting flight about 2 weeks later. Then they require you to pay a change fee of $100 if you want to switch back to a non-stop. We are boycotting them and flying anything else we can muster. I'm having a bit of a problem figuring out how to get to Hawaii without taking Delta, but I think I have it figured out....Fly to the West coast and take Hawaiian Air from there.

If they change the flight time after you've booked, they should NOT be charging you a fee.

You can also take Alaska Air. I see there's a flight from Minneapolis to Seattle, then Seattle to, for example, Honolulu, and I was just checking that one route. There might be others.

OP, that is a hot streak for sure, the fates are all aligned for you to have a GREAT trip!:thumbsup2 Thanks for reporting GOOD news!
