What 1 thing was indispensible

If you have a stroller and it rains a rain cover for it is a life saver.

Mole skin can be good too. Water shoes for the water parks.

Good sun hat and sun screen.

I second (or 6 or 7th really) ziplock bags.

An ID holder than goes around your neck. This is what I used the most and was surprised how much I used it!! I put my ID in the front, room keys next, Disney Visa, MNSSHP tickets, copy of ADR ressies and any receipts that would fit. This is a must have for us!! Have a great trip!!

Was your ID holder allowed to go thru the "no bags" line? I have a small (2x4") pouch-with-neck-string that can hold key card, etc. Would love to avoid that bag line in December!
Thanks,
MHF

Try this clear one from WalMart:

One thing that I have not seen mentioned that was a godsend during the summer months is Body Glide. It is a product used by surfers that will keep away chafing. My DD never had a problem the whole trip even in the water parks.

I don't think you're crazy at all. We didn't bring a camcorder either. Too much trouble to lug around in the park. It would be different if we brought our stroller and would have it with us at all times, but otherwise, I personally wasn't interested. We've got a ton of pics from my digital camera, and it takes short movies too, so that's plenty for me.

Here's another hand up for Ziploc Bags. We carried around all different sized ones. Great for putting camera and film in, great for snacks, great for wet clothes. I even had one to put the $1 store rain ponchos in after we used them on Kali. Kept my small knapsack very organized and dry. We are using the XL ones to pakc DS and DD's clothes this year. Each bag will have a full set of clothes from undergarments to socks, even hair accessories. This way they can pick what they are wearing each day just by picking out a bag.

Similason...it's a natural ear drop. The first day we were there, we rode Star Tours and shortly after DS started complaining about his ear hurting. Then he started crying. Then he started screaming. I think it was the combination of our earlier plane ride and then the shakiness of Star Tours. We left, went back to the hotel, I put a few drops of this stuff in his ear and he was fine. It was too late to go back to MGM that night, but his ears didn't bother him for the rest of the trip. I was really glad I remembered to pack it.

Anyway, if you have children whose ears bother them after riding a plane or who tend to get ear infections frequently, I would recommend this product.

The new Tide stain stick. Someone in our family always ends up with something on them and who wants to walk around with a stain all day. I was even using it in a line and ending up passing it to others to use too. I works great.

Thanks for the great advice! Going on 12/9 and want to be ready!! Thanks again

Jay

Gotta love those emergency ponchos! Arrived at WDW last week, two days before Hurricane Wilma. On Sunday night, the weather was beautiful -- but then . . . Went inside to go on Maelstrom at Epcot. In the 15 minutes we were in the building, it turned from "beautiful with a slight breeze" to "torrential downpour." I had tucked a Target-purchased emergency poncho in my fanny pack, and avoided having to pay $6 for the Disney version!!

ziplock bags, bandaids, wet wipes and chex mix! :sunny:

Del :sunny:

oops....forgot the plastic rain ponchos!!!!

Clif Bars - a type of energy bar that actually tastes great (Black Cherry Almond is my fav) - so easy to pack/carry and full of good stuff!

A pop up hamper for laundry. Had the supplies in the bottom and when we took our break from the parks, grab and go. It also doubled as a tote for the clean laundry to take back to the room. 3 person family, 1 laundry person to tote it all.

I buy those boxes of individual wet wipes, kind of like you get at a rib restaurant. They don't dry out or leak out in the backpack. They are also great to clean off the lunch table before we eat.

Also, I stick at least one medium size trash bag into the pack. it's great for holding wet things. I've even put the whole backpack into it for a particularly wet ride! :rolleyes1

And last but not least, I put a small supply of 1st aid stuff like various sizes of bandaids, a small tube of Neosporin, some Advil, Dramamine (for those of us with weak stomaches!) and some cotton balls into a Ziplock. It can be tucked in anywhere and someone always gets a minor injury of some kind.

Have to add one more thing. Couldn't have survived without our cell phones! We had four adults in our party, and often split up to do different things. Cell phones were invaluable in keeping in contact - we would have wasted so much time otherwise, hunting for each other. They didn't work in every instance (hard to get a signal in the "Land" building by Soarin', and it was too loud at Pleasure Island to hear the person you were talking to), but 90% of the time, they were invaluable. I hardly ever use my cell phone at home, but used it at least 5 times a day at WDW.

[Note to walkie-talkie users: I observed several families trying to use them, and they had lots of problems hearing each other because of static, etc. It seemed that cell phones were much better.]

Antibacterial wipes. Glow bracelets (keeps the little ones occupied in dark rides). Normally I would say Moleskin, but on my last trip I wore my Crocs and never even had to open the moleskin. :cool1: From now on my Crocs will be on my MUST pack list.

Along the same lines of the wet wipes, I found bottles of Purell (hand sanitizer) that clip on to your bag/purse/fanny pack. I bought them at the checkout counter of Target. Great deal!
