what 1 bedroom villa is best??

ok so ive always stayed at the Pop , me and my 11 year old daughter , but next year im bringing my husband and will be 5 year old daughter...she has many food allergies so we will be looking into a 1 bedroom villa so we can have access to a kitchen to make most of our own meals.....not too familiar with the deluxe resorts or villas....so what does everyone think is the best own.....it will be my husband and younger daughters first visit to the world.....we are planning february in 2014....

It depends what you mean by "best." What are you looking for in a villa? Location? An extra bathroom? Views? Transportation options?

Well, if you're going to be spending a lot of time at MK, then Bay Lake Tower and Villas at Wilderness Lodge will be your best bets.

You can walk from BLT to MK (or you can cross the bridge to the Contemporary and hop on the monorail). The other upside to BLT over the other villas is the extra sleeper chair in the living room and a second bathroom.

I've only stayed in the Beach Club villas and it is a really good place to stay. It is a short walk into Epcot, about ten minutes at the most. There is a boat to HS, and Epcot, too. The bus stop is closer to the villas than to the BC. The bus to MK is direct, with BC being the last stop. Otherwise, the bus usually only shares with YC, although this can vary.

Storm along bay is the best resort pool at WDW. And there are plenty of restaurants and entertainment in the boardwalk area.

Having a full kitchen really does change everything about the trip - in the best way. Don't forget you will also have a washer/dryer. It save a lot of packing to be able to easily do a wash mid week. And the whirlpool tub can't be left out.
Which one?
Bay Lake or WL if you want to be close to MK
AKL & Jambo House for being close to the Animals
BW & BC for walking distance to Epcot and a boat to HS
OKW for slightly larger rooms and a boat to DTD
SSR closest to DTD

All of them are good choices. For a small one go with AKV for the Savannah, the pool and the activities. 2nd choice might be WL for being very Disney and close to MK.

My personal choice is always Old Key West because it's peaceful, friendly and you can park in front of your villa. More like a condo than a hotel.

But if you are used to Pop Century and over the top decor, you won't find that at DVC resorts. Theming is subtle. No giant yo-yos or Big Wheels. No "in your face" princess or Mickey stuff.

I like AKV-Kidani. It's like BLT in that it has a bedroom, pull out sofa, sleeper chair, and 2 bathrooms. I also think it's one of the cheaper 1 BRs if you get a standard

if you rent a reservation from a dvc member - OKW is the least expensive most of the time.

BLT will be the most expensive (higher points) -walking to the MK is a luxury.

You probably know this already, but just in case you don't, from what I have read on the disboards Disney is fantastic with food allergies. Many families that have members with food allergies love going there because they are treated seriously, and get better care and choices then other restaurants. If you want to look for more info the restaurant board, and maybe the disabilities board would help.
