Last night, DH & I shared bang bang shrimp and prime rib w/mashed potatoes and asparagus.

I can’t shake this cold. I’m feeling a little better so I grocery shopped and ran to Costco. We are having chicken Cesar wraps with fries because it’s easy. I had planned to make mac and cheese with salad but I’ll make that tomorrow.

Rummaged thru the freezer and found the last bag of chicken chili. Perfect for the cold that’s going on outside, brrrr!

We did stew last night, too. Instead of my dutch oven I baked it in my stoneware bowl though. Turned out pretty yummy.

I tossed some chicken in the slow cooker to prep it for lemon rice soup tonight. Need something cozy in this chill.

My daughter is making baked tilapia and grilled broccoli. We're trying to eat healthier as my granddaughter just found out she is pregnant (my first great grandchild) and we want to encourage her to eat a healthy diet.

Last night DH thought he was starving, so we shared escargot, lobster bisque, pan seared duck breast w/black rice - mushroom risotto & sauteed baby spinach. For dessert, he ordered a slice of cheesecake.

I think I’m finally turning a corner with this cold. I made baked macaroni and cheese with a salad.

just did a deep clean of the house. told dh tonight's menu is on the order of 'nothing that splatters' so the oven will provide us with corn dogs and fries (and the microwave can heat some chili for said fries). I just want a couple of days without having to wipe the stove top and counters.

We ordered chilli topped with cheese & green onions served with tortilla chips. They forgot the onions, but it was pretty good.

Spent the day re-organizing the freezer from the decimation the holiday vac made of it. Needs a new inventory and new new evaluation of what needs replacing; time to face the reality that this is a solo household head on. Which also means no more filling the unit to the rim. Wow, new thunk has come to town with a vengeance, lol.

Found (yes, found is the right word. The bag was not with other soups) a bag of butternut squash soup that I added browned butter and chopped scallions to after heating up; nice addition. Ate another orange food for dessert: a clementine.
