What’s everyone up to today?

Cleaning upstairs, laundry.
The DD is coming over to use my sewing machine.....she has never used it, so it might take some time.

Going to the in-laws’ for a back-to-school dinner. It’s been a tradition ever since the oldest grandchild started kindergarten. Now the oldest is a college graduate and the youngest is starting college!

Trying to recoup from yesterday's travel. We left the Fantasy at 8am. Our driver was thirty minutes late and arrived at 9am. That was ok because we had a late flight. Thank goodness for the USO as my DD and I did manage to get a nap. Our 630 flight out of MCO became a 750 flight because of Atlanta weather. Our flight out of ATL was also pushed back so didn't get home until 2am this morning.

Worked this morning, just got done with dishes. Going to do laundry then shower before DH gets off of work at 2. Lazy day after that. Hopefully we get some rain so we can nap all afternoon

It's Sunday, which is my 'lazy' day. I'm planning on doing as little as possible. Might sit with a jigsaw puzzle later.

Purging and packing. Our house sold a week ago Friday and we bought a new one last Sunday. We move in a month and although it's not panic-time yet, we had the offer of help from some lovely people so we are going for it!

Congratulations! I hope the move goes as smooth and quick as possible!

We’re on vacation, staying at sister-in-laws home while they are out of town. Yesterday we cleaned up the yard from a big wind/rain/hail storm that knocked out power overnight, blew over the gas grill and some smaller trees. Last night we went to a state park with a dark sky area to watch the Perseid meteor showers. Today I’m watching the small weekend fishing boats on the water of Green Bay.

It's very smokey here today, so staying home and reading. We fired up all the air purifiers and have closed up the house (no cats on the catio, no one hanging out on the deck). I picked all the veggies that looked remotely ripe since in past years, this level of smoke has ruined what was growing--I'm just crossing my fingers for the unripe stuff, including my cantaloupe ) Plan is to make pesto and freeze it. Dinner is going to be yuxiang eggplant made with teeny tiny eggplants that I'd planned to pick in 4-5 days.

Mostly just wandering around doing little chores that need to be done. Gave my bathroom a deep clean too.

Soon, my daughter will be over for a little visit. It’s always a good day when we get to see her.

My sister and I kept a handwritten journal during our very first Sisters Trip to WDW in April 1994. We took it with us to the parks and took turns writing about the experience in it. We have read that thing over and over, so much that the spiralbound notebook we kept it in is falling apart. So, I've been tasked with the job of transcribing it onto the computer and then we'll have it bound into two books-one for her and one for me. I've done 38 pages so far, adding clipart and photos from the trip to each page. It's been a fun and fascinating trip down memory lane, reading and transcribing about so many things that aren't a part of WDW anymore.

I had fun searching for fonts that mimicked our handwriting, too. Gives the book a familiar feel.

So, that's what I'll be doing today, more pages.

Today was all about appointments. I had physical therapy at 8:45, and echocardiogram at 1 (which got canceled when I got there as the insurance hadn't approved it yet), and bone health visit at 4. In between I did some laundry, cleaned the kitchen, and iced my knee (which was replaced in June and still doesn't like it when I drive).

It’s a tough day. We’re making our way down the Overseas Highway for a work trip in Key West. We stopped in Key Largo last night for a sunset snorkel trip.
