We just got back from a camping trip so we are basically puttering around the house and relaxing in the deck. Gorgeous day here before we get some rain tomorrow. Planning to grill steaks for dinner. Nothing exciting, but very relaxing.

What’s going on in your neck of the woods?

We slept in, I took my daughter to the movies (Barbie), picked a grocery order, have had laundry going all day. DH grilled for us tonight and then we are going to try out a new local ice cream place that opened up last week :)

We always seem so busy that todays like today feel so nice!

Our usual Saturday morning routine. Listen to Casey Kasem American Top 40 on SirrusXm for a couple of hours starting at 9 am. It was from 1974 this week. Reading and watching TV in the afternoon. No idea yet what our dinner plans will be, but it's only 4 pm, so a little early.

Out camping. There's a group of us getting ready to start a fire and hang out for the evening. I'm not scheduled to go home until the end of the month.

Pretty calm day here. Got a workout in pretty early, did some housework, took a nap. Now sitting in the patio having a drink while the robovac does its thing.

We had my DD19’s early birthday party yesterday (her actual birthday is when she’s back at college) and today I’m hoping to get some pool time.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone

Purging and packing. Our house sold a week ago Friday and we bought a new one last Sunday. We move in a month and although it's not panic-time yet, we had the offer of help from some lovely people so we are going for it!
Wow..,,you’re going to have a busy month.
Congratulations on the new house and good luck with the move - I hope everything goes smooth for you :wizard:

Pretty similar. First weekend back from vacation. Need to finish reclaiming my garden from the weed monster. Need to can some jalapeños. Have a bumper crop. Weather is the same. Your forecast sounds the same as Chicago’s. No steaks but some bbq back ribs. Enjoy. We’re running out of summer.

I know it’s necessary at times but packing and moving has to be up there with my most hated activities.

:goodvibes Thank you - we're pretty happy! It's amazing how quickly we've detached emotionally from this place, which we LOVED, and have started picturing ourselves settled in our new situation. We've got excellent help with the packing, and still lots of time to finish up, or so it feels right now. The next urgent steps are getting the selections and scheduling done for a minor reno on the new place (flooring, paint, cabinets and appliances and some new furniture). We'll only have 20 days to pull all that off between the time we take possession and the move-in date but we're pretty confident. We're both "in the business" and the idea of everything being fresh and new is exciting!

We’ve been contemplating downsizing now for several years. I’ve been the roadblock because I love our current situation and am anxious about leaving it.

It's a BIG decision, for sure. But the time is right for us to take a whack of equity out which will be fairly life-altering for us. We only started even considering it in May and for us, this is whirlwind-fast action. It's all good, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't stressful. Lots of people find change exciting and invigorating - we're not those people. :scared:

We're in the middle of having a pool built in the backyard and even though the process has been endlessly long and we're still a month away from completion, today we're going window shopping for patio furniture 😂
