Wondering if anyone had any suggestions and/or experience with whale watching cruises in the SD area? My DD(7) and I will be in the area April 4-9 and are interested in whale watching cruises. There seem to be many options out there and have no idea which one to choose:confused3 Thanks:flower3:

I volunteer for Birch Aquarium aboard San Diego Harbor Excursion's whale-watching boat. There are two trips a day - 9:45 AM and 1:30 PM (boarding 30 min prior). http://www.sdhe.com/san-diego-whale-watching.html

Hornblower also offers whale-watching trips, although I do not know their hours.

You'll be coming at the very very very tail end of the whale season (last day is April 11th, April 4th for volunteer staffed trips), so I wouldn't guarantee sightings to your DD, but even if there aren't whales there are almost always dolphins and sea lions to see.
