Has anyone ever done the whale watching excursions from Dana wharf? We are going to go this year on March 3rd during our trip to Disneyland and I was curious about a couple things. How big are the boats? Do they go really far out? What are the chances of getting seasick on this trip?

Thanks
Mark

Yes! We loved whale watching. This was the company we went with.

It's a medium sized barge I'd say. The website should have pictures. It was inexpensive and fun. We saw about 8 whales when we went out last year. Some were too close so we had to move the boat away. The boat stayed in Long Beach harbor for 75% of the trip but that is just because we found so many whales there. After leaving the harbor we went out in the open ocean but never too far from shore. No one ever got sick. The boat didnt rock much but I guess it would depend on how rough the seas were that day. The harbor was a fairly smooth ride. We also saw several dolphins.

If I remember correctly they had drinks, snacks and a bathroom on the boat. The bottom level has large windows that you can see out of if it gets too cold upstairs. Our boat wasn't very crowded so the kids got to be in the front on top most of the time. It wasnt anything fancy but it sure was fun.

This one we are going to try next because I think it would be fun to be on a sailboat and is one of dh's dreams. It doesnt seem very expensive for a semi-private cruise.
