Today is the 10 year anniversary of the day Nancy Kerrigan was whacked in the knee before the national skating competition in Detroit. Hard to believe it is that long ago. I can still remember watching her cry "Why me??" in agony on the floor, over and over.

Gosh--that was 10 years ago?!:earseek: What's Tonya up to lately?

Was it today? I thought it was yesterday as they had it plastered all over the news. I felt bad for her...here she is trying to live a normal life and they go and show that over and over. It was probably the worst moment in her life, why show it again(and again and again) 10 years later?
They also had a segment on Inside Edition. I would say Nancy definitely has the better life now. :D

Actually the more I think of it, I guess it was a part of sports history so maybe it was worth nothing the anniversary, but Id still hate to be her, having to see herself like that.

She didn't deserve it, but I have never been a fan. I thought at the Olympics she acted very ungraciously when she took the silver-She came off as a spoiled brat. That has stayed with me more than the incident with Tanya. In fact, she acted very badly after when she was in the parade at Disneyland, as I remember.

I live in Tonya's hometown, Portland OR...I moved up here one year after those Olympics, but my husband did security at the mall she skated at during that exact time...he said Tonya was a "you know what" and had to be her escort to her car from the rink a few times. I haven't heard any news of what she has been up to recently, but Portland is darn sure to broadcast every little thing she does...

In 1996/97 I was getting my hair done at a pretty nice salon and my hairdresser said something about her boss Jeff; I looked up and I saw him and said, "Huh, he looks familiar." My hairdresser goes, "Yeah, he's Jeff Stone...ya know, former Jeff Gillooley??" I was like, "Oh my gosh....don't stare..." He runs/owns a bunch of salon/tanning places here in Portland and I guess has cleaned himself up pretty well.

I also thought Nancy came off as a total ice queen, especially when she made the corny cracks while she was in the parade at Disney- Gee, sorry Nancy that people want to celebrate your victory and come back from a frightening injury, and that you are at one of the most magical places on earth...what a rude gal!

There was a clip on one of the news shows yesterday and they said Tonya was involved in celebrity boxing (not sure how recent that was) and they showed her fighting Paula Jones .

Also do you remeber waht she said during a Parade as Grand Marshall in Disney World "This so Lame!" I lost respect for her after that.

Tonya has done well with her celebrity boxing and all. :teeth:
Actually Nancy is very sweet and very polite. She was a lot more gracious than I would have been in that situation.;)

***You beat me to it, Cinmell. ;)

I forgot she said "How Lame". That is pretty rude. She deserves another kick in the kneecap from Mickey for saying that about Disney.

Just kidding. Really.
