I’m working on it, everyone. I understand your frustration, and I have Google actively looking into it. Unfortunately, this site relies on ads to stay operational, so I can’t disable them. Without ads, it wouldn’t survive on a free model. I’m exploring alternative options to offer an ad-free experience, and those using ad blockers will also have access to this opportunity because I will also enable ad blocker detection, but only if I can provide a solution. I’ll work out the details and post a poll to get community input.

In Javascript terms, something is pulling "focus" out of the entry box, so the keyboard goes away.


I'm not entirely convinced that this is the current issue. It feels like it happens when one of the ad modules reloads. I used the Inspector to hide the reloading ads (display: none) and it stopped doing it.

The smart play (for now) would be for them to kill the reload scripts until they can figure out which one is the problem. (The really smart play would be to modify the reload script to pause while the focus is in the entry field - assuming that's remotely possible.)

It's bad play to reload ads off-screen, anyway - it murders your CTR, which makes it less likely for Google to serve good-paying ads. (I'm out of that biz now, but at one point in time, reloading ads off-screen would have been an AdSense TOS violation anyway.)

Most of the ads I'm getting now feel like dumpster-tier fill-ins. Seriously, like 90% of the ads I'm getting are for whatever this is (and it's unblockable):

Yea, I have had multiple issues.
1. Keyboard going away, causing me to click on an ad or a link.
2. The page reloads &/or scrolls up or down multiple times before it settles (sometimes) where it should
3. Scanner scam error page
4. Seems to be a new one that loads the page at the bottom instead of the top.

I use adblocker and never have any issues on this site. I also never use it on my phone but only on my home PC.
