A group of us went out to lunch at Fudruckers today. The guy who took my order at the cash register was young (18 or 19 probably). The price for my lunch was lower than usually, so I double checked my receipt while waiting for my burger.

He had given me the senior discount.

Fudds offers a senior discount to anyone over 55. I am 43. This kid saw me as someone at least 12 years older than I am.
Whaaaa... Sob.... Sniffel.... Sigh.

I got an application for AARP, too, and I'm 34!!! It's ok, these lines on my face give me character--and they are laugh lines, not crow's feet...right? :p

I bought beer when I was 15, Don. Ask Mandy how old SHE thinks you look, that's what counts.

Well, maybe don't ask her. :p :duck:

haha...for the next 2 weeks, every time there was an AARP commercial, my mom would leave the room! so of course we had to find papers with AARP on them..and show her!!

the evilness of my brother and i :)

Well hound, I would recommend some ways to deal with the cashier but...

You can't teach an old dog new tricks!

:duck:

To an 18 year old anyone over 30 is a senior citizen.

I have a god one that might make feel better...I'm 33 and I have a great deal of gray hair (you can see it in my sig in a pic from Jan.). The other day I went to Olive Garden and said I was meeting my mother and my son (did I also mention that I'm 7 months pregnant?) The hostess, who was all of 18, said she thought she knew who I was with. She proceeded to walk me close to a table with a woman who appeared to be 80, at least, and a man who was pretty darn close to 60!!!!! I tried not to be too offended and politely pointed out that my son is 4 years old.

I realized then and there that the gray had to go, got it changed a week later!!! hehheheheheh

Take the discounts while you can!
tara

Havent had that one YET, I'm still trying to recover from the first time I was called sir  I was in my late 20's and some kid in the checkout line hit me with that, I was looking around for who he was talking too and it dawned on me, he meant me!

ok been close,, i am 37 dw is 40 she looks great for her age,, shes always misatken for a younger lady... we have an 11 yr old dd that look like her mom and the other 4 dds that we claim( long story) all resemble.. what gets me is when we go out to a job and the customers say oh how nice that you are teaching your daughhter to be a carpenter.... or if dd is along how nice you bring both your daughters... she hates it. i think its a compliment . at least to her..lol.. makes me feel old

That kid was probably 21 or 22 and would be going "Whaaaaa" that you thought he was 18 or 19.

Oh, how things change as we get...........more forty-ish! ;)

Save up the difference in your lunch costs and you'll be able to retire quite nicely! :sunny:

I know just how U feel... I was just turning 40 the year my son was born. I stopped off at Walmart to purchase some diapers and stuff on my way home from DS 6 week checkup. I was trying to remember the list I wrote and left on the table at home. When this woman came over to congratulate me on my beautiful Grandson. UGGHHH

I then remembered Hair color was on my list LOL

All of the Fudd's are gone here in Orlando...along with Cheeburger, Cheeburger :(

But hey, WDW....you got a discount!!:teeth:
