WH townhome splash pools

Are they as tiny as they look online? We're going down in October and plan A was to rent a pool home for 8 nights. Now our 2 boys (12 and 16 at trip time) have decided they'd like to go to Universal for at least a day. I'm in shock at the prices over there! Now plan B is to stay at WH from Friday to the following Friday, check out and check in at a Universal hotel for Fri/Sat. In order to make that happen I need to trim some $$ from the Disney end and was thinking we could do a townhome instead. But....the condos (which we've rented before) are a lot cheaper so my question is would you pay extra and stay in a townhome just for the splash pool?

the splash pools are tiny. just big enough to splash around in not really good for swimming.

I think the splash pools are great. They are right out your back door, are bigger than the photos show, or at least seem that way to me.(about 12X12) The best thing for me is the privacy and being just steps from your own shower and bedroom. Especially great for relaxing at the end of the day. There are benches down in them to sit on.

The splash pool was great for our kids...no, it is not for swimming, but they had fun horsing around in there!

This is what I'm thinking they'll do while we're relaxing or making dinner....it has to be better than doing nothing right?

Definitely, I think it is worth it as you also have a nice lanai to sit out after a day at the parks and in the morning having your breakfast. Also, if you have the pool heat, there is a spa setting that turns the pool into a large spa.
