As a basic reminder for all: never open an email from someone you don't know and certainly don't respond saying 'don't send me stuff' - it just alerts the system that they've managed to hit a real address. (II get loads of spam from people with improbable names. I also get offers for increasing the size of things that I am already happy with thank-you-very-much. My ego for example!)

AND...be very careful indeed of any file sharing system from a source you don't know. File sharing, for music for example, allows you to access information in somebody elses computer - it also allows them to access the information in your computer. A tracker virus here will happily copy information from your computer - be that email addresses, bank details, whatever...

You are a very wise and handsome man. Seriously, though, we are very careful about all the stuff you mention (well, apart from the viagra spam which I repeatedly encourage Matt to respond to ). I suspect it may be a problem their end, rather than ours - they did say they've had 'a lot of it lately'.

Both. We have Norton Antivirus on the PC and we've run a full system scan which hasn't thrown up anything. The Macs (we have an iBook and an iMac) shouldn't be a problem.

We use macs too and don't have any security as we didn't think we needed it. Maybe a bit foolish on our behalf. Do you think you may have a virus on your macs rather than PC?
