When I went to collect my children from school yesterday, I found a very wet, cold and bedraggled Hamster wandering about in the Abbey ruins between the Church - where I work and the school. There are no nearby houses so I suspect that the dear little thing had been dumped by some horrible person. It was such a cold day, with very heavy rain that I am surprised that it did not die immediatly and I warned the boys that it had had a great shock and that they shouldn't be to upset if it was not alive this morning. We wrapped it in an old terry nappy and put warm water in its bottle and it ate 2 bowls full of food immediatly, and I am glad to say that it is still alive today, and it so friendly very used to being handled. Anyway the boys have decided to call it LUCKY!!

Oh poor little thing! Good thing you came along when you did. And I know what you mean about the weather! I only live "around the corner" in Seven Kings where it is raining cats and dogs at the moment!

Aw, bless its little heart.

My aunt found one wandering around her garden. She ignored it at first because from a distance she thought it was a baby rat (it was a brown Russian hamster). She eventually plucked up courage about a week later - amazingly it had survived, albeit was summer. Seems he lived off the bird food she put out every day.

Little Lucky lived for another two yeas with Eve and went away with them on their hols and everywhere!!

Good luck with your Lucky:)

Awwww, poor little mite - I'm glad it looks like a happy ending for Lucky though :)

What a lovely story. I'm hamster mad, I've been keeping them for years and I just love the little things. It sounds like you found him in the nick of time. He's definitely a lucky little Lucky:D

Hope Lucky is doing well and adjusting to his new home.

Lucky is really doing well considering, although my Cat (called Orlando Magic- magic for short) thinks that he has been bought home as his personal plaything - the funny thing is whenever lucky runs around in the cage Magic runs a mile - he really is a scardey cat!

I'm so glad to hear that he's doing well, I've been wondering how he was getting on. LOL about Magic (Orlando Magic what a great name).
Tracy:D

Yes the vet loves the name, always causes a smile!:D Guess where we had just come back from when we rehomed the cat - he was still quite little and his name was "brandy" - which we first of all thought was a dogs name but he wasn't brown in colour but a lovely blue/grey colour - we thought of many names, but you couldn't call him Mickey cause he's a mouse, and Tigger didn't fit so I suggested as a joke Orlando Magic and no one disagreed so it just stuck -and of course it reminds us of our most favourite place on earth!

How nice that you rescued a littlel rodent, Snookhams. You are a better person than I, I would have run the other way :)

By the way, I <i>love</b> that little purple clipart of yours, I like yours too Kaylee :teeth:
