We've Bounced Back like Tigger SB09 TR NEW 9/11 CLOSING TIME....

Hi Scrappie-Do! I have been reading along but every time I got to post a comment one of the kids needs something (Danica) or is getting INTO something (Liam).

understand the feeling....I try to ignore them :rolleyes1 like now Margaret and Mae goofing off behind me....

I love that you and Matt hide behind the curtain to talk. I wonder if John and I will do that when the kids are older....???

;)

By the way....I don't want your TR to end! Can't you go back sooner? Didn't you get any Developer points that have to be used this year?

aw, thanks....you are too sweet...I don't want it too end too...but to stretch out one day till the end of this yr would be a bit crazy. I've started a BLOG that I will post a link to at the end of this for anyone interested in keeping up w/ the goings on of me-Scrappie till the next PTR/TR....

actually we do not. The incentive package we took did not have any to offer...we took more $/per point pd by Disney...seemed the most sensible deal...if you can call it that....:rotfl2:

I so wish we were going back sooner...but we'll all have to wait a wee (ok a lot longer for now) but I'll have all your trips to read up on :goodvibes

What a wonderful experience for Aldine with Sergei the Juggler!! (is that his name??) :goodvibes

Yes something like that...;) it was great...I can't wait to show you the video too...eventually

Thanks for the shout out!! :rotfl:

your welcome!

Love the watch - very cool. Sounds like a lovely last evening at WDW, but sad your trip is almost over. :(

thanks...I like it too. It was a nice last night spent at Disney...seems to work well to not have a long busy night before you head out...so you are well rested and ready to go on the last morning.

I'm sad it's almost over for the 2nd time for me too but I know I have more TR's to share in my future and to read from you guys too popcorn::

Scrappie

I've been reading along too. It's so sad that it is coming to an end, but yeah for the DVC purchase! That is so exciting.

Hi Scrappie!! I'm here... still burried in laundry from last week but trying to get caught up on some DISing. I enjoyed your day at Epcot - I got to read it from start to finish in one sitting. :thumbsup2

No wonder my mother & I couldn't find all of those gnomes last year... I thought they were all in the garden too. :confused3

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Aldine got to be the juggler's assistant! I was really disappointed that we didn't get to see him this year. Alex kicks, throws, tries to juggle just about anything he can get his hands on (and often gets in trouble for it)... joining in would have been a dream come true for both of us.

I'm really impressed with Aldine's yearbook - what a fun project!! It's beautiful! :goodvibes

Love your new watches too - Tim was trying to convince me to buy a watch when we were there. I kind of wish I had... :sad2:

Can't wait to hear about your last day. popcorn::

After showing off for a few minutes and joking around w/ some guest in the crowd he came back over by us and pulled Aldine out onto his “stage”. Now I just thought she’d help w/ a small bit and come back, but she ended up being in the whole rest of the show. A good 10 minutes or so. It was so fun and she had such a blast what an AWESOME memory for her and us!

100_2779.jpg

You should have seen the expression on her face, just giggling w/ pure joy! :rotfl: She was smiling and laughing and have a great time.

It was wonderful Disney Magic.

Definitely magical!! :thumbsup2 What an awesome memory... that's going to be a fun scrap!

We then headed over to the Dig Site Pool again (after changing into our suits of course ;)) to swim and have some fun since the sun :beach: had come back out again! While we were there I chatted w/ Mom a bit about the possible DVC purchase and asked her opinion on what she thought, etc. As we were chatting a guest talked to me about himself being a member...

...In the few moments we could steal away, Matt and I did discuss the DVC purchase and decided to do it… :woohoo:

Yay!! I'm so glad you had a chance to mull over the decision and that we are now "neighbors!" :grouphug:

Aww, so hard for the trip to come to an end... :sad1:

Kathy

I've been reading along too. It's so sad that it is coming to an end, but yeah for the DVC purchase! That is so exciting.

well HI and :welcome:

glad you stopped in and said hello, glad you have been enjoying my TR and yes I can't wait to set foot home and be loving our DVC purchase :goodvibes

Hi Scrappie!! I'm here... still burried in laundry from last week but trying to get caught up on some DISing. I enjoyed your day at Epcot - I got to read it from start to finish in one sitting. :thumbsup2

there you go...:thumbsup2

No wonder my mother & I couldn't find all of those gnomes last year... I thought they were all in the garden too. :confused3

I know I am glad I asked!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Aldine got to be the juggler's assistant! I was really disappointed that we didn't get to see him this year. Alex kicks, throws, tries to juggle just about anything he can get his hands on (and often gets in trouble for it)... joining in would have been a dream come true for both of us.

it was quite awesome, I hope he'll get to be in the magic on one of these upcoming trips :goodvibes

I'm really impressed with Aldine's yearbook - what a fun project!! It's beautiful! :goodvibes

thanks! It will be fun to fill it up w/ the next trip too

Love your new watches too - Tim was trying to convince me to buy a watch when we were there. I kind of wish I had... :sad2:

I've had those oh should have bought that feelings too...glad I can go back and find new treasures!

Can't wait to hear about your last day. popcorn::

starting next post!

Definitely magical!! :thumbsup2 What an awesome memory... that's going to be a fun scrap!

It was...I almost teared up just thinking about again...:goodvibes

Yes I plan to do a small 2009 WDW scrap album, I created a digtal album through photopass (which I'll share soon) but still want to scrap in detail some of the best moments...

Yay!! I'm so glad you had a chance to mull over the decision and that we are now "neighbors!" :grouphug:

I'm honored to have you as my neighboor

Aww, so hard for the trip to come to an end... :sad1:

Kathy

I know...I think I have actually been putting off starting Day 8) this week....but I guess all good things must come to end....

Scrappie

I'm really impressed with Aldine's yearbook - what a fun project!! It's beautiful! :goodvibes

I just realized I called Aldine's scrapbook a yearbook!! :rotfl:

Alex's school sells yearbooks every year and he gets completely obsessed about them... we talk about yearbooks a lot around here. ;)

Day 8) Thursday April 2nd, 2009

Last Day w/ Mickey-Departure Day

So I awoke on the last day of Disney fun around 6:30 am when DH got up to give Michael his medicine and just decided to stay up and get moving…I was ready to go….well not leave Disney, but get to a park and have some last-minute fun!

Everyone else got up a little later and we got dressed and finished packing, we called for luggage assistance by 8:15 am. The LA guy arrived a few minutes later and we were ready to split…my parents were not quite moving as fast as us and I think my mom felt a bit rushed, I said not to worry we could always catch up together later…take your time. It had been decided the night before that my Dad was going to go back to AK by himself to walk around and ride KS again, and that Matt and I were going to take the kids back to DHS and my Mom would come w/ us.

But as the morning was moving ahead, I was started to have 2nd thoughts on this decision and it was starting to put me in a sour mood :(. We had some confusion  before we left as I was outside ready to head over to the main building and grab some breakfast to go, but Matt as usual can never truly leave the room till he looks for himself if everything is packed and we left nothing behind, even though I was sure and he wanted to look for that missing TSA lock yet again…we ended up getting a bit miffed :headache: with each other which didn’t help my already downward mood. I was just ready to roll and just wanted to be on a bus going.

My parents caught up to us at Café Rix as we were walking out w/ our muffins, fruit and a few drinks to go. We bid farewell to my Dad and headed to the bus stop, and now I was seriously having those 2nd thoughts and didn’t know what to do. :confused3

I like DHS, but I don’t love it….and I realized that the few things we missed earlier in the week and stuff we could do, we’d have to split up to much, I felt like we should go somewhere else…MK maybe? But the MK bus had come and gone and now here was the DHS bus pulling up, we had to make a decision so we just got on.

By the time we got there I was sure I didn’t want to be here, but felt bad to make everyone change because of me, particularly my Mom who really likes DHS. I probably sounded like a brat on the bus, I don’t know what it was, but I really wanted the last day to be GREAT….is that too much to ask?

We [DH & I] got off the bus w/ the decision to go to MK I offered to my Mom that she could go to DHS by herself, but she said no she’d just stay w/ us. It was now a little before 8:40 am and we were at DHS but wanted to be at MK…so how do we get there. :confused3

I was kinda kicking myself if we had taken that original MK bus from CSR we would have made it for rope drop and the show…oh well. :sad2:

Matt asked how do we get to MK now and we took a bus to the TTA which arrived very quickly and then hoped the Monorail over to MK. This was when I finally figured out how to do this live post: :thumbsup2

Post # 248 from this TR:

"so its only taken me eight days to have time todo a live post I am currently waiting to board the monorail to MK we made a last minute decision and switched our last day plans hope it works... the crowds have been good to crzy at times the weather has been mixed but better than what was at home...snow. Margaret has been great how much she has enjoyed from last year... well I will leave you now with one final thingto ponder on Tuesday we did something crazy but should be amazing....be home tommorrow bye J"

that thing I hinted to way back here was Tuesday=DVC tour....

We were now in MK and this plan would totally be off the seat of my pants :mickeyjum. Would it work or be a complete bust? :confused3

Stay tuned to find out more….:surfweb:

Thanks for reading,

Scrappie (J-)

I missed the 15 months to go mark on our countdown for the little girls birthday & Thanksgiving trip,

but that doesn't mean I havn't been thinking about it...:rolleyes1

You'd think we were leaving on this trip THIS November....

but w/ the '10 DDP pricing out and '10 park passes pricing out (I plan to buy our passports next year July prior to most likely normal August increases)

I have been carving out a proposed budget for those big items...

since I can check Resort off the list (w/ the exception of calling to make my ressie later this December)

it makes sense to move on to parkpasses and dining...right;) You know I only have over 14 months to plan this trip....:rotfl:

plus my latest insanity roll :rotfl2: was to check the UG touringplans crowd calendar for my "dates" for 09 and come up w/ a tentative park schedule...

this actually helps us look at the cost factors of buying Park Hoppers and/or tickets for MVMCP...

yet to discuss this stuff w/ anyone other than myself :hyper2: but we'll have lots of fun things to plan & discuss when I start a new PTR :woohoo:

Scrappie 2010 or Bust!

Are you guys so SAD my TR is almost over no one has said HI?

well anyways...here's the Last Day:

More of Day 8) Magic Kingdom on a “no plan tour”…..

***Writers Note...please excuse the total out of order report of our touring this day....this was the last bit of notes I was trying to catch up on at home, I was probably writing my notes a week after we had been home...and my notes do not reflect the order of the pictures...but you'll get the gist of it.***

We just arrived at MK and as I was walking up Main Street I was sending you a live post. We found our way into Fantasyland and got started! With only a ½ day to fill w/ all the last minute magic and pixiedust we could muster up we wasted no time at all…

We first did The Many Adventures of WTP and as we bounced along in our honey pots, DH was able to capture this picture:

100_2842.jpg

As a nod back to predecessor ride Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride (his favorite Disney ride) and now when we return we need to find the other nod (to Wind in the Willows) of a painting of Moley w/ Pooh Bear.

Here are few more pictures of our fun in the 100 Acre Wood:

100_2841.jpg

100_2845.jpg

Then we visited WTP Playful Spot and Margaret had some fun in Piglet’s House:

100_2858.jpg

100_2859.jpg

***(I’ve read that there is a nod to the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Attraction that was here in the tree. You need to go inside and look above the main entrance. There is a picture of a submarine.)

Up next was another trip into Neverland…”Here we GOooooooo!”

100_2824.jpg

100_2825.jpg

And then another spin through IASW…my favorite classic Disney ride! I just love looking at all the little scenes and finding my favorite dolls. Here are just a few pictures for you:

100_2828.jpg

100_2829.jpg

GO IRISH!

100_2831.jpg

Matt's fav: Don Quiote (msp?)

All together now, sing “It’s a small world after all….”

100_2837.jpg

100_2838.jpg

Then we parted Fantasyland and headed into Liberty Square where we rode HM again to look for some grim-grinning ghosts. We were able to easily access the Mansion thru the Servants Quarters Entrance and into the stretching room.

100_2894.jpg

Once on our way to our Doom Buggies though, the crowd and path was just jammed packed. It was quite bad. Many guests were starting to get grumpy and complaining just making the path even worse and the line feel that much longer. We were doing our best to creep along w/ the group into the single file queue up to the moving walk-way; it was tough to keep from losing someone. I sat w/ Michael and Mae who both were not quite thrilled to be going on this ride again. I’m not sure why but they both were a bit more spooked by it this year. Michael though realized by wearing his headphones and covering his eyes by my lap during the bits he dislikes he wasn’t as scared.

And then I have to cover my eyes at the very end when you go under the arch way and that spooky lady is talking to you up in the right hand side….ohhhh she always get’s me.

After retrieving the stroller, we debated whether or not splitting up for my Mom, Aldine & I to go on BTMRR, but Matt didn’t want to split up. So we stuck together and then had a nice conversation w/ one of the CM’s in charge of Entertainment in the MK about the Woody’s Round-Up little show and at the end of our conversation, he was asking what brought us down to WDW this year and we told him about my Mom’s just past b-day when Mae chimed in and said we are coming next yr for her 8th b-day and he gave her 7 immediate FP return tickets for us to use. How special…we didn’t end up using them that day and I passed them off to another very happy family!

We also tried our luck back in Toontown to try and get that picture I wanted in front of Mickey’s House. It wasn’t nearly as crowded as it was a few days earlier and as Matt and I were adjusting the kids for the picture a CM was nearby and offered to take a group shot, so I said sure (and thanks of course). It turned out real nice:

100_2865.jpg

Here are a few more pictures of some of the very clever and fun items around Mickey's House:

100_2866-1.jpg

100_2867.jpg

100_2868.jpg

Before passing off the FP’s we went on POC again and this time utilized some guest assistance which helped Michael tremendously not to have to wait in the longer line. After enjoying our Pirates Life…Yo Ho! My Mom was tired and bid farewell as we split up. We’d meet her back at CSR later before catching our DME bus to the airport.

Cont: next post....

So we went on Jungle Cruise once more and had a really good Skipper who had that perfect dry humor down pat…though not everyone on our merry cruise got in on the act. And during our adventure the last bit of magic was bestowed upon Aldine as she was chosen to help skipper the boat thru the treacherous dark tunnel:

100_2910.jpg

And was given this souvenir card too:

100_4020.jpg

Here are just a few more pictures for fun:

100_2900.jpg

100_2916.jpg

Michael wanted to go up in the SFRTH...so we took a hike:

100_2917.jpg

100_2920.jpg

a view from the top

We wanted to take our time walking up and then back down, but this couple behind us, was a bit grumpy and not into the magic of this classic exhibit...so that kinda spoiled it for us...if memory serves me correct Missy had the same issue too.

Up next we headed back over into Tomorrowland for the last two rides of the day:

BLAB

100_2870.jpg

Matt and Mae ready to score!

100_2873.jpg

Michael all set to defeat Zurg!

& the TTA (or as I love to remember it as the WED-way people mover Ok I always thought it was the we-way… but I now have the correct spelling). Here are some last minutes shots of the park from this fun little ride:

100_2885.jpg

and of this construction area, which we later found out is going to be a new stage for live entertainment

100_2879.jpg

100_2881.jpg

And then I snapped this cute picture of Margaret as we were coming down the ramp:

100_2889.jpg

I guess she was worried her hat was going to fall off.

(ok you can see my Mom's legs in this picture...so this must have happended earlier...)

So our no-plan day was a huge success! We got on 8 rides, went to the playful spot and a got a family picture in Toontown in under 6 hours. We had lunch too at Cosmic Rays

100_2891.jpg

Plus got to see PUSH for just a minute:

100_2890.jpg

and sometime along the way Aldine stopped to make a wish in Cinderella's fountain:

100_2893.jpg

We then bid farewell to MK one last time for this trip and we left w/ happy and full hearts of a wonderful last day spent here in the magic that Disney World deliverers! I may have even shed a tear as we left.

The last bit of Magic we saw was the end of the forecourt show

100_2929.jpg

Up NEXT: We say Good-bye to CSR and WDW, but not before one last special memory for me….a surprise Dis-meet!

Thanks for reading,

Scrappie (J-)

Hi there,
I'm way behind and trying to catch up (work has decided to interfere with my DISing time!), but I wanted to let you know that I'm here and will be reading furiously until I catch up!

Hi there,
I'm way behind and trying to catch up (work has decided to interfere with my DISing time!), but I wanted to let you know that I'm here and will be reading furiously until I catch up!

good to see you :goodvibes

hope you enjoy the end of the TR...and wow your Thanksgiving trip is coming fast :cool1:

Hi,
I'm still here, just keeping quiet again! Sorry about the confusing morning - I hate when I get indecisive like that! Alls well though, sounds like you had a great morning in the MK. I was thinking of you all the other day, when my youngest got an American Girl book with her Happy Meal, and it was the Josefina one. I starting telling them about Aldine taking pictures of her doll around World Showcase - but then they got that look on their faces, like "Oh no, Mom is talking about her pretend friends on the Disboards again, isn't she nuts" and I shut up.
That's great that you can get so much done the day you leave. I get way too preoccupied with packing up, and getting places on time that I can't relax and enjoy the last day of a vacation. I wish I could just enjoy every last minute like you did. Hope the trip home was uneventful!
Elaine

I decided to take my lunchtime at work today to catch up on all my dising, so I've caught up on your TR!:cool1: The only thing is, it's almost over!:scared1: I have really enjoyed all the special moments the scrappie family has had, I really liked the last post in Epcot where Aldine got to be the juggler's assistant!:) How cool was that? Something she'll never forget. I also loved the fact that you switched your plan and ended up going to MK for your last park. I really like to end my trip there, too.:goodvibes

I know I missed the Scrappie's Getting to Know You Quiz, but I filled it out and I hope it won't be out of line for me to post it now?:rolleyes1

1) Your Disboard name and why you chose it?

Well, it was really something basic. My name is Sheresa, my DH is Rick, and our first dog’s (that we still have) name is Baxter, thus SHEBAXRIC was born.

2) Trips to any Disney Park: year, park and resort off or on

Wow, there were so many trips to Disneyland when I was growing up, I don’t think I can count them. I know we went at least once a year from the time I was about 8 to 18.

Our first trip to WDW was November of 2002, a day trip to the Magic Kingdom for Thanksgiving with our in-laws and one of my DH’s brothers.

2003 December trip, 4 nights with DH at POFQ

2004 ASMu in November with DH and in-laws

2005 Caribbean Beach Resort in December with DH and in-laws (do you see a pattern here?).

2006 Our first POP experience Christmas with DH and in-laws

2007 The week prior to Christmas, off-site (boo) with DH and in-laws

2009 in November will be at SSR with my sister, her hubby, my in-laws (yeah, I know), my Dad, and my DH. This is one big family trip!

3) Your first Disney Memory

Main Street in Disneyland going to the train station and getting on the train for my first Disney ride!

4) Your favorite Big Attraction

I think the Matterhorn in Disneyland is my favorite. In WDW, I love Splash Mountain.

5) Your favorite “secret”
Believe it or not, we love the Fastpasses! It’s not really a secret anymore, but we like to think that we’ve been in on the secret since it’s inception!

6) Why did you start Dising? Do you remember what your first post was?

Originally I started Dising in order to get a DVC points rental. Then I saw the entire boards and started poking around and now I’ve found a second home with so many people that are crazy about Disney like me!

7) Have you ever worked for the Disney Company, when and where?
No, I wish!

8) Have you ever won a Disney trip or experienced a “dream” during the Year of a Million Dreams?
Never a trip, but during the Year of a Million Dreams we got to lead everyone in the little music thing they do at Mickey’s Philharmagic. We got a certificate with the “Dekker Family” printed on it. It was a little embarrassing with everyone staring, but all the same it was a special memory.

9) What is your Disney planning style?
Very different from my DH’s! I love to plan months in advance, while he likes to go with the flow. With this year’s trip, we have so many people going (usually it’s just the four of us) and it’s my sister’s first trip to WDW, so I really want everything to be super special!

10) If you were in a Disney movie who would you be?
Probably Lion King because animals are my favorite.

11) Name something you do every trip
Usually, we take the train around WDW first thing, then get off at Main Street and walk down to Adventureland and get on POTC.

12) Name something you have never done
A lot in Epcot. We’ve never done anything in the Universe of Energy, never seen Figment (which I’m going to remedy this year), we always seem to gravitate towards the WS.

13) Name something you wish would happen to you or a family member at Disney
I really want my sister to enjoy this trip and have a special moment happen to her, whether it’s being singled out for a parade or participate in a show of some sort, like the Indiana Jones Stunt Show.

14) If you could decide what the next park at WDW would be, what would you call it?
I honestly don’t know, can I leave this one up to the Imagineers?

15) Would you ever consider moving to Orlando to work at WDW and what job would you want?
Isn’t that everyone’s ultimate dream?? I would love to work with the animals at Animal Kingdom, but really, I’d take any job except for a job cleaning the bathrooms, I can’t handle that!

16) What is your favorite Disney song?
Once Upon a Dream

17) If you designed the perfect Disney vacation, what would it include?
If money was no object, I’d like two full weeks at the Grand Floridian. One day dedicated to something outside the parks like a spa day for my sister and I, and golfing for DH. I would also love to take every tour that I’ve ever wanted to take, like the Dolphins in Depth (which I can’t afford), the Backstage Safari Tour, and the Backstage Magic Tour. I’d love to also stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and get to take the Sunrise Safari tour. Needless to say, I love tours!

18) When do you normally Dis?
Lunchtime at work

19) When you are not Dising, what do you do?
I love to read, get on Facebook to chat with my friends in San Diego, go to movies and perhaps check up on trip reports here on the DIS.

20) If you had only 1 hour to spend at WDW what would you do?
You’d really limit me to one hour?? Well, I’d go to the Magic Kingdom and try to get in as many rides as possible.

21) What is your favorite Disney souvenir?
Our Pal Mickey, by far!

21) Does every room in your house have at least 1 Disney item in it, or name which rooms and stuff.
Every one except our bedrooms and bathrooms.

22) Have you ever been Backstage at any Walt Disney Park?
I’ve taken the Behind the Seeds tour, which was really neat. This year we’re going to take the Keys to the Kingdom tour because I want to see the tunnels (I don’t know how to spell the real name, utilidors??).

23) If you had to sum why you LOVE Disney so much, what 3-5 words would you use?
Disney magic envelopes you every time!

Hi Scrappie, sorry I'm just catching up now too. How dare work interfere with my Dis time?? :confused3

Now that I'm all caught up I can comment on a few things :)

1) So neat that Aldine got some pixiedust: in the Sergio show. Haven't seen that one before, will try to catch him next trip.

2) love the Alice dress for Mae. :goodvibes too cute, like heather makes me long for a little girl to dress up :rotfl:

3) Aldine's scrapbook is great. I wish I was half as crafty and creative as she is :thumbsup2

4) Rain :scared1: but it is FL and as you noted...people really should know the equation FL = Rain = Ponchos by now?! :rotfl2:

5) Love the disney watches...I hope they have some good deals w/purchase again. I only got the tote last time, but I love it! ;)

6) :yay: for a successful MK day, but so :sad1: it's the last day.

popcorn:: Looking forward to the next update and hopefully staying caught up

I have always wanted to see that picture in the Winnie the Pooh ride!!! I can't wait for my daughter to get home from school so I can show her what it looks like.:goodvibes

It sounds like you made the best of the last day, and had a great time! I love how Disney will always go out of their way to make special moments for visitors, and it sounds like you got a couple the last day.

As for not being around. The more I'm on DISboards, the more I want to go back, and we have no trips planned at this time.:sad1: We follow the Dave Ramsey plan, and our spring break trip was our debt free celebration (even though Disney didn't recognize it:rotfl:). I have been saving like crazy since the beginning of summer, and living on a VERY tight budget. We are working on a full six months of income in savings. There is job shake-up coming at the end of the year, and I'm preparing. Therefore, no vacation planning for me. Only hard work.;)

The only way I let myself even come to this site anymore is if I don't look at anything else.:rotfl2:

and sometime along the way Aldine stopped to make a wish in Cinderella's fountain:

100_2893.jpg

I was curious about the location of Cinderella's fountain? We have been to Disney twice and have never found it.

I have just finished reading your TR and it looks like you had a great time. I will definitely be back to read your final thoughts.

Krista

J, I'm sorry. I haven't been spending a whole lot of time DISsing - life has been insane here :flower3:

Now that I've caught up:

Great WtP and PP pictures - such sweet rides :goodvibes Oh, and thanks for the mention of IASW - so now THAT song is running through my head :headache: and :rotfl2: How cool to get the seven FPs from the CM - pixie dust for sure! :wizard: So nice of you to pass your pixie dust to another family  Great picture of you all in front of Mickey's house - that's a framer! :cool1:

Woohoo for a great skipper on JC - makes all the difference! :thumbsup2 Yay for Aldine - I'm sure she was a fabulous skipper! :woohoo: Fantastic - 8 rides, good playing time, Aldine was a skipper, surprise FPs, family picture in front of Mickey's House! Really looking forward to your next update - lucky you, with a DISmeet!!!! :dance3:

Wooohoooo for LESS than 15 months until your next trip! :yay: Unsurprisingly, you are already uber-organized :worship:

I had no idea you posted the other day. You had a really great last 1/2 day at MK.
I have a picture in my TR of the 20K sub at Pooh's Play spot.
I don't think I've ever seen Cindy's wishing well either! Directions please.

Wow...you guys all came out of the wood work huh....JK.

I'm kinda sad my TR is coming to an end, guess I need a little love....;) and sorry had to delete several smileys to get the post up....

Hi,
I was thinking of you all the other day, when my youngest got an American Girl book with her Happy Meal, and it was the Josefina one. I starting telling them about Aldine taking pictures of her doll around World Showcase - but then they got that look on their faces, like "Oh no, Mom is talking about her pretend friends on the Disboards again, isn't she nuts" and I shut up.

:rotfl: I get that too....but at least we are in the same boat...My Mom picked up some of those for me to put in the girls Christmas stockings....always thinking ahead.

I wish I could just enjoy every last minute like you did. Hope the trip home was uneventful!
Elaine

I am usually to preoccupied w/ getting us off too, etc and not able to enjoy that last day...guess I was just determined to let it go and let the Disney Magic take control...and we had a great DAY!

I'd like to say coming home was a breeze...but well the magic kinda stayed at WDW....but we got home safe and that is what matters...."last" post coming soon.

and thanks for telling me your name, now we are properly introduced besides just jamom and Scrappie....

Julie

I decided to take my lunchtime at work today to catch up on all my dising, so I've caught up on your TR!

well thanks for having lunch w/ me....what did we have ;)

I have really enjoyed all the special moments the scrappie family has had, I really liked the last post in Epcot where Aldine got to be the juggler's assistant! How cool was that? Something she'll never forget. I also loved the fact that you switched your plan and ended up going to MK for your last park. I really like to end my trip there, too.

thank you we had some really fun moments on the last 2 days!

I know I missed the Scrappie's Getting to Know You Quiz, but I filled it out and I hope it won't be out of line for me to post it now?

1) Your Disboard name and why you chose it?

Well, it was really something basic. My name is Sheresa, my DH is Rick, and our first dog’s (that we still have) name is Baxter, thus SHEBAXRIC was born.

never too late...and now I know the mystery of your name! :thumbsup2 very clever!

Hi Scrappie, sorry I'm just catching up now too. How dare work interfere with my Dis time??

I'm trying to get this TR done as even though I don't work outside the home, w/ school starting my Dis-time will be cut w/ helping w/ homework, volunteering at the school, the event I chair, etc and etc....busy soon I will be and I have seriously been negleting my scrapping...so need to get busy down there

Now that I'm all caught up I can comment on a few things

1) So neat that Aldine got some pixiedust: in the Sergio show. Haven't seen that one before, will try to catch him next trip.

it was so fun and entertianing...yes a bit more that my DD was in it, but one to please I am sure!

2) love the Alice dress for Mae. :goodvibes too cute, like heather makes me long for a little girl to dress up

thanks I saw the perfect "Alice shoes" at Target the other day...but had to resist the urge to buy them....paitence I tell my crazy Disney portion of the brain.

3) Aldine's scrapbook is great. I wish I was half as crafty and creative as she is

she will be thrilled to hear, thanks

4) Rain :scared1: but it is FL and as you noted...people really should know the equation FL = Rain = Ponchos by now?!

yes strikes me odd....

5) Love the disney watches...I hope they have some good deals w/purchase again. I only got the tote last time, but I love it!

thank you, it flet to me they had more options this past trip

6) :yay: for a successful MK day, but so it's the last day.

Looking forward to the next update and hopefully staying caught up

It was and yes it's almost all over...but I'll have a fun recap before I close!

I have always wanted to see that picture in the Winnie the Pooh ride!!! I can't wait for my daughter to get home from school so I can show her what it looks like.

COOL! we were excited to finally capture that shot!

It sounds like you made the best of the last day, and had a great time! I love how Disney will always go out of their way to make special moments for visitors, and it sounds like you got a couple the last day.

yes me too, I guess that is why I enjoy coming back!

As for not being around. The more I'm on DISboards, the more I want to go back, and we have no trips planned at this time. We follow the Dave Ramsey plan, and our spring break trip was our debt free celebration (even though Disney didn't recognize it:rotfl:). I have been saving like crazy since the beginning of summer, and living on a VERY tight budget. We are working on a full six months of income in savings. There is job shake-up coming at the end of the year, and I'm preparing. Therefore, no vacation planning for me. Only hard work.

totally understand...hang in there w/ your job concerns. and that is so awesome for you guys to be working hard to save that money I bow to that :worship:

The only way I let myself even come to this site anymore is if I don't look at anything else.

totally get that!!! I feel overly blessed that we can plan these last 2 and the upcoming 2 trips before we take a little Disney hiatis...glad you can live viacariously through me and others' reports.

I was curious about the location of Cinderella's fountain? We have been to Disney twice and have never found it.

I have just finished reading your TR and it looks like you had a great time. I will definitely be back to read your final thoughts.

Krista

Hi Krista and :welcome:

thanks for reading, we did have a really good trip...hope you will come back to read my last post and closing thoughts in the coming week or so.

I'll answer the fountain location further down....

J, I'm sorry. I haven't been spending a whole lot of time DISsing - life has been insane here

no worries...you have that trip coming up! Then I'll be saying sorry to you for not keeping up...;)

Great picture of you all in front of Mickey's house - that's a framer!

I actually did print it as an 8 X 10 for my MIL for Mothers Day, she loved it.

Really looking forward to your next update - lucky you, with a DISmeet!!!!

it was a great ending to our trip...I was on a great high! The Dismeet is actually w/ one of the readers who just posted....

Wooohoooo for LESS than 15 months until your next trip! :yay: Unsurprisingly, you are already uber-organized

I know looking at the ticker and it saying 1 year 2 months....is actually quite excited...it is scary how much stuff I have looked up for the next one...:rolleyes1

I had no idea you posted the other day. You had a really great last 1/2 day at MK.
I have a picture in my TR of the 20K sub at Pooh's Play spot.
I don't think I've ever seen Cindy's wishing well either! Directions please.

what were you playing w/ those adorable kiddos of yours....:lovestruc

I just knew you would have seen that, I felt I had a feeling I had seen it but didn't think I did...that is probably where...OK scray the Dis TR's and WDW memories are blending together....

OK DIRECTIONS TO Cinderella's Fountian...now I will do the best I can here to explain this!

If you go down Main Street heading toward the castle but vear to the right, not into Tomorrowland but toward the Tea Cups...before you actually get that far if my memory serves me correctly there is a path very small that goes along the castle and brings you out on the other side as if you were going to Adventureland...

following me here...

On this path between the castle and the moat (is that what they call it?) is where you will find the fountain.

Good luck.

Please let me know if my directions were somewhat correct!

Scrappie (julie)

coming soon...the farewell to WDW and our flight home, plus souvenir and our 8 Days at WDW recap..the good, bad and everything in between...OK off to make muffins w/ Mae for the first day of school tomorrow and dinner.

:goodvibes
