We've Booked!

We've finally booked!!!!!! Dw saw sense, after much discussion, she finally saw it my way.
Going with Globespan, from Glasgow, unbelievably cheap, approx £350 each. Ok, it's a NO FRILLS airline, but if we'd wanted to, all 4 of us could have flown business class (50" seat pitch etc) for £3000!!!! But as we're doing it cheaply this year, the alternative to not going at all, I had to settle for £1400, and 8 hours of probably hell. No food, drinks, little tvs....
Ah well, at least we're going, and that's all that matters!!! Who needs airline food anyway!!!!
Just need to book a car now(usually a minivan), any ideas? Used airline network previous (dollar) and found them competitive.
Oh yes, and accomodation!!!! Going to ring Bob, our friendly villa owner to see if he still has the house we usually use available.

You're right there, it's the going that's important! Dw actually suggested when we were deliberateing whether to book these flights or not, to not go this year, and save up to travel business next year. Madness!!! Would sooner just suffer the flight, and spend some of the money we saved on staying at Fort Wilderness for a week again

Will try really hard to do a trip report, but always lose interest when I get back, don't want to torture myself because it'll be so long before we get back there! But I'll try!

If you don't do a trip report, then hopefully you will find the time to just report back on your flights?

I believe that Globespan is pretty/completely new - so I am sure that your insights will be very much appreciated

Well, the house we usually stay in is available , so we've just got to book the first 4 nights in Hard Rock (or possibly Portofino) at the start of the trip, and 8 nights in a cabin at Fort wilderness at the end, with 11 nights in between in a 4 bed pool house on Eagle Point.
Not booked a car yet, tried this afternoon with Floridacarhire.net, but the site crashed, after I'd entered my CC number and pressed submit . So I don't know whether it went through or not.
They've not responded to my e-mail yet. So a little worried.
Has anyone else used this company? Are they ok? Any help much appreciated!

and the best thing for you is no airline food !! go buy pringles, coke etc before you go, i do!!

Thanks Netty. You're right about the airline food! Just the NO FRILLs title is a little scary! I'll definitely post details about it when we get back.
I would have rung them this afternoon, but there is NO telephone number, just an postal address and e-mail addresses. Which is why I'm now worried. Their website says they will always get back to you within 48 hours, but that's not that great is it? Espeically if we were in Florida with a problem at the checkin desk!!!!
Should have paid £50 more and booked with Airline network, serves me right for penny pinching!

This is all very worrying though, as I remember reading a trip report recently where the family arrived at Budget (no less!) having booked with US rentacar, and Budget had no record of their ressie! the family had to shell out for a car again!!!! I actually thought to myself when I read it, that I'd avoid US rentacar at all costs. When I was on the Floridacarhire.net site, I certainly didn't notice anything to connect them with Usrentacar. Ah well, hopefully it's all legit, and we'll have no problems. A pain though...

as for the car we've just got back from Italy & I booked our car on the net via The travel supermarket.

You put in your destination, dates & type of car & it searches lots of sites for you & come up with the best price.

We ended up booking with auto europe but picked up the car from Hertz but the price was £60 cheaper than Hertz!
