We've been GHOSTED!

It happened last night.

The doorbell rang at around 7:00. I went to answer it and THERE WAS NO ONE THERE!!!

I looked up and down the street and saw nobody!

Just as I was closing the door, I looked down on the stoop and saw a plastic halloween bowl there, full of stuff.

The bowl has a bunch of candy, glow sticks, hot cocoa, silly string and halloween drinking straws.

There was also a hand drawn ghost and a sheet of directions.

Someone in the neighborhood is having some fun!

We were instructed to put the ghost in the window so the phantom wouldn't visit again and to act as the phantom ghost for two of our neighbors. We've got our baskets together and will be delivering them tonight!

What fun! My little one is going to ring the bell while we wait in the car, ready to zoom away!

We've been doing that in our neighborhood for several years now. We're kind of spread out, so it's a great way to get to know some of the neighbors!

We do this in our neighborhood too. Have been doing it for several years now, it's really fun. The only exception is that we call it "Phantomed".

We were "spooked" last week! That was the first time for us! What a great idea. We then spooked 3 more people. I have to smile whenever I see that ghost on my door! Here's the poem that accompanied our goodies:

Your house has been spooked during the night
By someone in the neighborhood who wants to give you a fright!

A bag of treats has been left for you
Full of Halloween candy and other goodies too!!

Now it's your turn to give someone a fright,
By placing three bags of candy & ghosts during the moonlight!

You have only one night to spread your ghosts,
So the whole neighborhood will be haunted the most!

You will need to make 3 bags of treats to take to 3 houses on the street!

You will need to place a copy of this rhyme in each goody bag you leave,
So the next house will know how to proceed!

Once your house has been spooked, leave your ghost on the door,
So that we will come no more!

Our neighborhood also does this. We call it being "Booed". We hang a sign in the window after we are "booed" so we only get it once. Then you do two other families.

Our neighborhood has never done it, but we usually play it at work. It's fun and something to liven work up! Hmmm...maybe I should get it started!!

at work! We have enough employees that throughout the month we do that. I was Booed yesterday and I Booed my boss today.

I got some halloween towels with cats on them from HomeGoods and some candy in a box and then I put some trickor treat candy in a canning jar with a decorative fabric lid. All in a bag with the poem and a boo sign.

It's fun.

I got a great spider basket with some candy, a nice mug for hot chocolate or tea. I kept my favorite candy (almond joy) and left the rest for others to eat at my desk.

We also call it Phantomed in our neighborhood. We've been doing it for about....well, I guess as long ago as we moved in! We have kids all around the same age (give or take 1 year) & we just keep going around getting all the neighbors & then we branch outward! Sometimes I think it's more fun for the adults, than the kids!!
